The sequel to the original Cardfight!! Vanguard series.Cardfight!! Vanguard G, began airing in Autumn 2014. Taking place after a three-year Time Skip, it focuses upon a brand new set of characters: Chrono Shindou, Shion Kiba and Tokoha Anjou, who all wield new "G Units" with the "Stride" ability.A second season, GIRS Crisis, began airing in October 2015 and focuses on a new mega-quest hosted by the Friendly Vanguard Association which will see Team TRY3 traveling to all the different branches of the organization to win the title of Generation Master. It was followed by its third season, Stride Gate in April 2016, which pits TRY3 against the mysterious Ryuzu Myoujin and the "Company" organization that supports his sinister ambitions.Five months after the events of Stride Gate Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT followed up. With Shion focusing on the Kiba company and Tokoha overseas, TRY3 has split up as Chrono transfers to Tokyo Metropolitan Harumi High School. With the announcement of the Under 20 Cup he teams up with Taiyou Asukawa and newcomer Kazuma Shouji to conquer it. But standing in his way are his former teammates as Shion and Tokoha have formed their own teams for their chance to become U20 Champions. Both series come together in the final series, Cardfight!! Vanguard GZ, where units from Cray inhabit the bodies of cardfighters to bring about their master Gyze and end both worlds as we know it.Episodes are now available subbed on Crunchyroll and dubbed on Youtube.

All or Nothing: Ultimate Stride is this in a nutshell. All Zeroth Dragons that a player Ultimate Strides to adds an additional 25000 power and gains attributes of their nation's clans (Zeroth Dragons strides to a clan's nation rather than the clan itself). However if they do not win at that turn, they must exclude ALL G-UNITS FROM THE G-ZONE losing all future Strides, G-Guardians and locking GB restricted skills for the rest of the fight. Taken a step further in the anime. If the characters that use the Zeroth Dragon fails to win that turn, the cards in their G-Zone are physically destroyed.

Awesome, but Impractical
 Cardfight!! Vanguard G / int_2bdae2ae
comment
Awesome, but Impractical: While not an alternate win condition, the Gear Chronicle unit Deus Ex Machina, Demiurge can nearly guarantee this. Activating it allows the player to take twelve cards from the drop zone and stack them on top of the deck in any order. Chances are, it will be three critical triggers and as many heal triggers as possible after that. Oh and you cannot guard against it with Grade 1 or higher units, meaning only G Guardians, Grade 0 units and intercepts can guard. The cost, sending TWELVE Zodiac Time Beast units ALL with different names from the bind zone to the drop zone. While it's easier to pull off with the Chronofang Tiger deck, it's very easy to mess up. On top of that, you have to worry about your opponent trying to take pot shots at you while you set this up. There are decks that are able to set up for this early on, however, the opponent may still have all of their options and resources open to use and may be able to successfully guard. Another very strong Gear Chronicle unit that can nearly guarantee a win is with Interdimensional Dragon, Mystery-Flare Dragon, but it is very strict on how it wants you to use it. First, you have to actually hit the opponent's Vanguard with Mystery-Flare. After you hit with Mystery-Flare, you then reveal the top four cards of the deck, and here's where everything matters; you must reveal four cards of different grades. If you are successful, then you may pay the cost of 4 Counter Blasts, and if you accidentally healed to 3 damage, tough luck. What you get for all of this trouble is ANOTHER TURN! However, because of how specific these requirements are, it's very easy to miss the opportunity, and needless to say, you don't get a lot of opportunities with this card. A rather strange way to win is to forcefully remove an opponent's Vanguard. While not normally possible, the Dragon Empire's Zeroth Dragon of Inferno, Drachma can do just that. Playable in all Dragon Empire clans, Drachma retires the opposing board completely and binds them in the process, this includes the Vanguard. In compensation, the opponent selects three cards in their hand, two are discarded and one is forcefully ridden. The trick here is to catch them when their hand is at two or less as they have to discard first. From there, if they cannot ride from hand, they must ride from soul and that unit takes over. If they do not have a unit in soul, they cannot ride a Vanguard and without a Vanguard they cannot play the game, thus they lose automatically. A play that requires a lot of situational circumstances, but hilarious when actually pulled off.

Beach Episode: Just like in the original, these tend to develop the characters and plot, with the episodes in question being episode 32 of G, episode 37 of Stride Gate, and episode 38 of NEXT. Episode 32 of Vanguard G is the blowoff of Team TRY3's loss to Team Demise and shows how close the three has become. Episode 37 of Stride Gate is the bridge between Chrono losing his ability to use his Chrono Dragon cards and the final fights of the season. Episode 38 of NEXT takes place before the finals of the U20 and reveals the plot of the Diffriders to the Fukuhara team and Team Jaime Flowers.

Cast from Hit Points: The ability to summon units from planet Cray on Earth requires an imagination so strong that it literally whittles away at the user's life. Ryuzu Myoujin suffered Rapid Aging, Rive was almost paralyzed, Am collapses after summoning, and Luna was in intense pain. Chrono fares better than the rest, but he always used either half-materialized units or summoned for just an instant; the one time he used properly summoned, he collapsed from exhaustion.

Central Theme: The endless possibilities of the future. The G-Units added to the game sees your Vanguard taking the form of a unit from the future or the past. Most importantly, they can even take the form of their own future self. Alongside the previous series' theme of Imagining your ideal self, the various Cardfighters in this series embody this as a way to push themselves forward to reach a future they desire.

Naïve Newcomer: Chrono takes up the position in G, learning from Kamui in the first episode. Later in the season, Chrono has to teach Taiyou about Vanguard. In GIRS Crisis, Luna Yumizuki is this and Team TRY3 have to teach her how to fight. However, it seems she already knew some of the rules beforehand as she was watching her friend Am play. In NEXT, Kazuma Shouji averts this as he already knows how to play, he simply needed a refresher.

Manipulating the Opponent's Deck: During the climax of the Stride Gate arc, Chrono is fighting Ryuzu, who both are Gear Chronicle users. Ryuzu attempts to win the fight with an instant win condition that took advantage of Gear Chronicle's ability to manipulate one's own deck to get out twelve different Zodiac Beasts and Binding them. Chrono responds by forcing him to shuffle the deck, destroying the entire strategy as it was heavily reliant on top-decking.
