In keeping with this anime's surprising popularity, in spite of a relatively limited release, the movie's current gross is over 2.5 billion yen with over 1.4 million tickets sold at the Japan Box Office as of August 13, 2017. It was, in fact, still playing in some theaters the day the Blu Ray was released. It's currently ranked 3rd highest grossing late-night TV anime based movie behind Love Live! The School Idol Movie and Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale.The home video releases include the OVA, showing what happened to Alice after the movie ended. Azumi of the Bermuda Trio gets eliminated by being lured by Maho inside a tunnel and stopped on the other end, allowing Miho to deal the killing blow from above the tunnel entrance.

Averted in the beginning however with Rabbit Team's M3 Lee against Nonna's IS-2, where they fired close range with their 37 and 75 mm cannons without denting the IS-2. Fukuda's Type 95 Ha-Go fires at a Matilda II's side at this range and destroys it. Chi-Ha-Tan has some hits and misses with this trope against the University Team's Pershings. Sometimes they do hit close-range but the Pershing's armor prove too much, other times they hit the turret rings, which does the job of white-flagging the tanks. Miho's Fast Ball Special plan has Maho fire a blank from her Tiger I's gun right behind Miho's Panzer IV to propel the Panzer IV right up to Alice's Centurion, shooting the turret with her Panzer IV gun right up at it.

Played for Laughs when Ooarai's main force is completely encircled and Chi-Ha-Tan Academy performs its trademark Leeroy Jenkins in an attempt to drive a wedge into the enemy's formation and allow their allies to get out. Unfortunately, all that the enemy's tanks have to do is to nonchalantly move slightly to the side and let the momentum of Chi-Ha-Tan's tanks drift them into the killzone.

A plane taking off despite going over its maximum load capacity (Lampshaded by Saori as well). A light tank doing a "side wheelie" after losing one side of their suspension and with no tracksnote though the tank in question could actually drive without tracks, however the procedure to do this involved a lot more than just sticking a steering wheel in a hole and it could very much not do a side wheelie A tankette going fast enough to skip off water. Tanks ramping off to leap across far-too-wide rivers and ravines. Tanks, particularly heavy ones like the Tiger and the Pershing, going at speeds and pulling off driving stunts that are more at home in The Fast and the Furious series. The Ferris Wheel. Everything about the Ferris Wheel. How the tanks react to getting shot would be this in real life, but would make sense in this series' setting. Since the shells are not actually penetrating the tank's armor, the kinetic energy of each shell still has to go somewhere. Thus, we see tanks getting hit by huge cannons getting thrown across streets due to the kinetic impact and transfer.

All hope seems lost... until twenty-two more tanks show up, crewed by "short-term Ooarai transfer students" made up of all of their opponents from the series (plus the series-mentioned but movie-introduced Chi-Ha-Tan and Continuation High teams) to boost the roster to a more equal 30 v 30 match. The Chi-Ha girls even brought twenty-two tanks by themselves just to help Miho, until Darjeeling reminded them that they're supposed to only bring six to make equal teams.

However, in Real Life, this typically requires a precise and delicate 2 hour process (Then again, they removed them with what seems to be explosives, so much for "delicate"). The BT-42 can actually run without tracks thanks to its Christie suspension. In perfect road conditions, a tank with Christie suspension could go up to 70 miles per hour. Still with the BT-42, the scene where it first jumps a huge gap is a direct Shout-Out of (in)famous, record-setting lake jump by a BT tank in 1936 (amusingly, 42 meters) The lone tanks jumping the channels pale next to the tale of the British tank column that came under surprise heavy fire in a forest road next to a 15 feet wide channel. Its lead tank, seeing no other exit, revved up the engine and jumped the channel. The entire column followed suit. Tanks going downhill or plowing through the terrain all rotate their turrets backward or to the side so their gun barrel do not get damaged by the impact against the object or the ground. When she's told to pretend to be struggling to drive away, Mako weaves back and forth slightly, something that late model Panzer IVs did with inexperienced drivers, a problem caused by heavy, long-barreled cannons weighing down suspension designed for a lighter turret.
