Generation X is a 2017 comic book written by Christina Strain (The Magicians, Runaways) and drawn by Amilcar Pinna, with covers by Terry & Rachel Dodson. Published under the Resurr Xion umbrella of titles spinning out of Inhumans vs. X-Men, it is a revival of the Generation X title and concept, originally written by Scott Lobdell and drawn by Chris Bachalo.Upon returning to the Xavier Institute —now located in Central Park— Jubilee is disappointed to learn that she hasn't been assigned to training a new team of X-Men by headmistress Kitty Pryde — instead, teaching a class of students with useless and unreliable powers, who aren't suited to be X-Men or to be ambassadors for mutantkind.Among Jubilee's Ragtag Bunch of Misfits are Kid Omega (Quentin Quire), Morph (Benjamin Deeds), Hindsight (Nathaniel Carver), Bling! (Roxy Washington), Eye-Boy (Trevor Hawkins), and Nature Girl (Lin Li). Some of Jubilee's fellow founding Gen-Xers (like Chamber, Husk, and M) also appear in guest spots. After nine issues, Generation X renumbers to #85 note (the combined issue total of both volumes up to that point) as part of the Marvel Legacy initiative, with Strain and Pinna remaining onboard as the creative team. The series concludes after twelve issues in total, ending at #87.

The X-Men have realized that training every mutant to be an X-Man has only lead to an extremely high mortality rate so they've decided to instead divide up the students into future X-Men, Future Ambassadors for Mutantkind and Generation X.

Hufflepuff House: The main characters. They're not suited to become X-Men, or to become public figures crusading for mutant rights – their curriculum is aimed to let them master their powers to lead relatively normal lives.

Blessed with Suck: Newcomer Nathaniel Carver, who can get a psychic feeling from locations about what happened there.. but doesn't want the inevitable future that brings of working in crime scenes and other horrible places. Eye-Boy can see just about anything but is physically unappealing due to having an eye everywhere.. even his tongue.

Villain Decay: The Purifiers. Last time they attacked the school, they used technology that could neutralize some of the X-Men's powers, had snipped their biggest threat the day before and used the cover of the night to enter the school and start picking off students, failing only because of unexpected circumstances. Now their fighting force seemly consists of four guys who decided they could attack Central Park in broad daylight without any fighting plan other than "shoot at the mutants".

Left Hanging: Monet's partnership with Sabretooth. She was merged with Emplate in Uncanny X-Men (2016) and needed to feed on mutants, so Creed promised to keep her secret by letting her feed on him until they could find a way to cure her. When the team disbanded, they were shown to have stayed together. Here, Monet is still merged with Emplate and Sabretooth isn't with her. Chapter 86 shows a flashback to their fight in Limbo, but still doesn't answer why they're separated.

Ascended Extra: At least half of the main cast consists of this: Eye-Boy was a fairly popular but minor supporting character from Jason Aaron's run on Wolverine and the X-Men (Marvel Comics). Nature Girl was introduced in the second volume of Wolverine and the X-Men but received little screen time. Bling! is a long time, rarely spotlighted background student, having only had a small role in Adjectiveless X-Men in the last decade.
