Disjointed is a three-part Zootopia fanfiction created by Seraph (who goes by Silver Blue on the fic's page). The first part is called Before The Sequel.There are two Guilds overlooking the city of Zootopia: the Writers' Guild, a collection of authors, and the Artists' Guild, the stronger of the two organizations containing artists. The main character, Winston, was attempting to make it to the Writers' Guild, but he was forced back into his own Crapsack World, Hollow. Left with no other choice, Winston chose to make strides taking care of his own duties before re-entering Zootopia and getting a view of the city he called home all that time ago.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })And that's just the first few chapters.Later on in the story, Winston finally makes it back to Zootopia, only to learn that forces called Affinities have been tracking him down for... some reason. What's worse, the inhabitants, who seem strangely familiar, have been fighting these guys for a long time...The fic is written like a movie script, making it unique among fanfiction, and plays out like (and is confirmed by Word of God to be inspired by) Devil May Cry. Shout-Out: The entire story, the fight scenes in particular, can remind one of Devil May Cry. This extends to Winston being a Dante Expy. On the topic of Capcom, one of the characters is named Gene, and to push the reference further, he is explicitly stated to fight only with his hands and feet. Faust's name is a direct reference to Guilty Gear. The presence of three Guilds in Zootopia may remind some of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Basic Affinities are called Twosides. The larger Affinities, like Harmonies, use the naming scheme of Bayonetta's angels. The first Desire Ego that Winston fights, Tempest, is described strikingly similarly to Fortitudo. The method it's fought with calls back to how Fortitudo was fought in that game. On the topic of Bayonetta, The Secretary is all but stated to be a combination of Jeanne and Rodin (both in terms of power level). As her true form, Shader Complex, she becomes more like Rodin than Jeanne. Proto-Secondary is all but stated to be a Head Swap of Justice.
