In an attempt to save himself and his friends, he alongside his close friend Sergeant Cameron Masterson link up with a peculiar offduty JSDF officer named Youji Itami and coordinate the civilian evacuation of Ginza. In this American expeditionary force made up of the 7th Marine Expeditionary Force of the U.S. Marines, a smaller platoon-sized Ranger unit, designated "Hitman", with Emerson in command is attached to assist their efforts into the new world.Manifest Destiny is written as a Alternate Universe of the events in Gate by adding the United States into the forces invading the Special Region, with the point of view coming from special forces, specifically the United States Army Rangers. The story follows the canon events by the manga and anime as close as possible with the Americans attached to Itami and Third Recon Team.
