The story has them being strangers to each other when they met due to the Age Lift Izu has. Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: All Might and Sir Nighteye's relationship had been rebuilt after the former choose Mirio as his successor, while in canon their relationship was never repaired until Nighteye was on his deathbed.
