It is advised for the readers to have read the light novels up to Volume 13 and has knowledge of the plot for both the VN and the Movie for maximum pleasure, but they are not strictly required.

 Adaptational Villainy: A minor but noticeable one. Phantom purposefully impersonates Rinne to piss Kurumi off in Chapter 1, evidently because she finds it amusing. In Chapter 9, Phantom also tries to manipulate Rinne into stopping her date with Shido by showing off the Ruler's own Inverse form, something that Rinne fears and hates so much.
