The Ancient One takes on Lorelei and a Brainwashed and Crazy Superman and, albeit with some effort, flattens them both - as Jessica points out, the only reason it was even a fight was because their opponent didn't actually want to hurt Superman. Just how powerless normal criminals are against Superman is clearly shown when he intercepts a suicide bombing by Madame Gao's forces against a Russian base as they prepare to hunt down the Masked Man; after stopping the bombs against the first building, Superman puts down every single Russian in the building in a matter of seconds before any of them can even react to his presence, and does the same to at least two other Russian bases in the next few minutes. Maxima of Almerac is mentioned as having once tried to ‘propose’ to Odin in her quest for a worthy mate, and contemplates seeing how Thor has grown before she learns that a living Kryptonian has been discovered. When Steve informs Tony that he didn’t fight in the Civil War (responding to Tony’s latest joke about how long he spent frozen), Tony says “give it a few years”… The Ancient One named Trigon as one of the multidimensional threats she had to protect Earth from. Superman later gets to rescue Trigon's half-human daughter Rachel. Adrian Toomes is already making an impression in the criminal underworld, with some of Fisk’s enforcers contemplating trying to get samples of his tech in the hope of using it against Superman, although this is shot down as a useless step after seeing what Superman was capable of when fighting the other Kryptonians. Thor gleefully remembers how he personally slew Ao Shun in the Great Culling of the Wyrms. When the Dragon King resurrects and attacks New York, the Storm God eagerly throws himself into the rematch. It hopefully won't happen, but when Clark sees Thor gorging himself on a pizza, he wonders how much an Asgardian would have to eat to become fat. Raven mentions that spending too long in the Mirror Dimension could result in a "bizarre" flawed copy of oneself emerging from the dimension to try and take the original's lives for themselves, an obvious reference to Bizarro. After the battle at Yashida Corporation, a Hydra scientist escapes with a sample of Rogue's blood, and compares Rogue to a "parasite" in a manner that strongly evokes the image of the Superman foe in question. Rogue screams that she doesn't want to die a virgin while on board a falling plane, and after Superman saves the plane she shouts "I love you, Superman!". The two end up having sex later on. | |
