Hazama doesn't even try in his fight with Natsu. The only reason Natsu and Lucy were able to get away at all is because Hazama let them to make things more interesting. After he activates the Grimoire, Ragna effortlessly annihilates Jose. Jin spends most of his fight against Natsu, Gray, and Bang completely wiping them out (though to be fair in Bang's case, he was still heavily drained from the previous battles with Phantom Lord). It's not until Erza and later Ragna show up that things even out. | |
