In canonnote Or TK's original novel if you prefer Mimi is a both a Genki Girl and Nice Girl from the very start with the new Digidestined liking her but especially Yolei whom she fantasizes with. But in the fanfic, due to PTSD from the first series pushing her to distance herself from her friends, she starts off as an Alpha Bitch with no clear signs of her notable sweet personality to the point that the same Digidestined greatly dislikes her and she shuns off any mentions of Digimon and Joe. As a result, she ends up being one of the Digidestined with the least appearances in the fanfic and those appearance has her do nothing but whine around some more. But once Character Development kicks in, she eventually Took a Level in Kindness after realizing how bitchy and coward she is by running away from all the fights, eventually apologizing to the Digidestined and she reverts back to her sweet and nice characterization she has in the original canon. Unlike the original where Blackwargreymon has a change of heart and sacrificed himself to stop Oikawa, this version of Blackwargreymon remained loyal to his master as well as unrepentant and hostile towards the Digidestined all the way to the end. In fact, he is about to die, he not only shove and threatened Wargreymon out of the way but he is even willing to kill innocent bystanders just for the chance to kill Oikawa in revenge for manipulating his master.

Placing honor above friendship, he constantly struggles with the more easy-going nature of the other Digidestined, and even moreso when Ken attempts to reform, unwilling to believe the Digimon Emperor was capable of atonement.

And then Chapter 66 has Oikawa reveal his master plan to merge the real and digital worlds, killing all other humans and resetting all the Digimon, and then ruling over what results from the fusion. And then he distracts the children by creating MaloMyotismon from a copy of himself mixed with Blackwargreymon's and Myotismon's data. Meanwhile, Arukenimon is moving ahead on her plans to betray him.

When he realized Ken was becoming to much of a power in his own right, he created the D3s, the DigiArmors, and the new Digimon themselves in order to defeat him and also drain the Digital World of even more data. He is also the first character to permanently kill a Digidestined when he murdered Ken. And even better, there's no hints that he is just being possessed by Myotismon as in canon, he's doing this all on his own.
