Earth's Alien History or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Mistrust the Xenos is a collaborative fanfic started by Neshomancer on AlternateHistory.com which can be found here if you happen to be a member of that site, and also on Sufficient Velocity and on Spacebattles.The story starts out detailing the history of Earth as it deals with Alien Invasion after alien invasion starting at the tail end of the 19th century. It later evolves into a full on Space Opera as Earth and its allies become a Galactic power. The story is still ongoing and currently starting the 24th century. The story is a Massively Multiplayer Crossover that features characters and races from many famous works of science fiction such as Star Trek, Star Wars, Worldwar, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics, just to name a few.A spinoff called Earth's Alien History: Andromeda Dreams has been started, which is set to chronicle colonists sent from the Milky Way to the Andromeda Galaxy. Eobard Thawne's origin is this. He was inspired to become a hero by reading of Barry Allen's battles with the Reverse Flash, gained access to the Speed Force, and went back in time to become Barry's friend and sidekick. Barry disapproved of Thawne's brutal methods, and a dejected Thawne went to the Flash Museum, where he was driven mad by the fact the he was destined to be the Reverse Flash. The Legends Arceus arc sets one up. Early on in their trip to the past Satoshi, Hanka, and Inara encounter a time displaced Porygon, which Professor Laventon studies. The Monster Makers, the people who created Digimon, were inspired do to so by the centuries-old record of a being made of data on ARC3-US, and their successes with early Digimon inspired the creation of Porygon and its line, as well as inadvertently leading to the creation of MissingNo. | |

Fantastic Religious Weirdness: As a result of the various species intermingling for long periods: Surakan Buddhism is, as the name suggests, a philosophical school that bridges elements from Buddhist and Vulcan teachings. The Church of the Divine Image is a Christian offshoot that believes God's salvation of humanity also applies to aliens — but only Human Aliens or, at a stretch, Humanoid ones, since they're the only ones made in God's image. Certain aspects of the Race's culture expand their worship of their Emperor (and past Emperors) to include veneration of certain important other figures from their history, who are granted the saint-like title of "Most Loyal". By the 23rd century, the most popular religion in TeTO space is the Church of the Cosmic Spirit, a dualistic faith which believes in a Spirit of Light responsible for all good in the universe, and an opposing Spirit of Darkness responsible for all evil, with major important and influential historical figures of all species believed to be avatars of one or the other. Reincarnation is also a major aspect as well. Mormonism becomes the largest Christian denomination after the chaos of the 20th century causes Catholicism to collapse and people turn to the LDS Church due to Salt Lake City being the only Christian religious center that doesn't get damaged by any of the alien invasions. It also does surprisingly well for itself among other species, being shown to be quite popular with the Race, quarians, and asari, among others. Though they do have to make adjustments to the faith depending on the quirks of other species' values and biologies — for example, as the LDS Church prohibits same-sex marriages, and asari are all physically female (and the Church doesn't want to forbid asari members from marrying in their own species), asari converts have to declare themselves "officially" male or female so that their marriages aren't technically same-sex. Cosmism eventually fully replaces traditional religion in the USSR and other communist states (and becomes popular with post-Praxis Klingons), evolving into a form that states that people should strive to become Sufficiently Advanced Aliens like others present in this universe. The Gemini worship Xerneas, and the other Legendary Pokemon by extension, due to Xerneas' Heroic Sacrifice creating them. One Gemini, Emile, gets into a brief religious debate with Dr. McCoy (here a devout Mormon) over the logic of worshipping an abstract being when Physical Gods are present. | |

The Gemini, a hybrid race of krogan and turians created accidentally during the Reaper War, face discrimination by both species, who view them as abominations. Vulcans who follow Surakan Buddhism are looked down upon by much of mainstream Vulcan society, viewed as misguided at best, heretics at worst. In the Mirror Universe, TeTO's loss to the Mekon's alliance (and the Race and their vassals abandoning the organization shortly after) causes a rapid growth in xenophobia among humanity. While those species which had long been loyal are treated better, most others are subject to suspicion and hate crimes. The Cardassians are punished for their failed invasion of Klingon space by being forced to surrender several colony systems to the Bajorans, who proceed to install an apartheid-style system of repression on them. The Zhat Vash's canon hatred of A.I.s has naturally expanded to include beings such as Cybertronians, Geth, and Digimon, the last of which they've been systematically exterminating whenever they appear in Pact space. The Star Trek: Discovery version of Klingons are a subspecies created by the Goa'uld mixing their ancestors' DNA with that of the Unas. Because of this impurity and the taint of association with the Klingons' hated "gods", they're looked down upon and hated by the rest of the species. The Toads, or at least their corrupt aristocracy, have installed an apartheid state against non-Toads in the Mushroom Kingdom, with the Goombas in particular eventually fleeing to Bowser in order to escape persecution. | |

Enemy Mine: The first steps taken towards humanity and the Race going from co-belligerants sharing a planet to actual allies come in the form of working together to fight off all the other aliens who invade Earth (the Harvester invasions being the biggest example). The attacks by first the Mekon, then the Five Galaxies, and finally the Reapers bring together every major player in the Alpha Quadrant, who put aside their rivalries in order to survive the latest threat. While not enemies per say, the Arks Sherran and Centus are from rival blocs (the former being from TeTO and the latter from the Citadel) but have to work together for mutual survival after the Scourge damages them and separates them from their respective fleets, stranding them in hostile Kett space. The Klingon and Romulan Arks left the Milky Way before the Reaper War led to their peoples putting aside their old rivalries, so still don't trust each other. But they work together to prevent Krell technology from falling into the wrong hands. As their definition of "wrong hands" include Ronan and Thanos, this alliance also brings in the Novans, who are desperate for any aid against their enemies. In the Mirror Universe, the Ferengi ally with TeTO against the Mekon, as his totalitarian regime is bad for business. Also in the Mirror Universe, the remnants of the Conspiracy of Light eventually ally with the Klingon-Andorian Alliance in order to check the growth of the Terran Empire. The Master suggests to the Legends that this will end up happening between them against Faction Paradox. The Legends' mission is to destroy the Faction to preserve the timeline, while the Master's is to find the Doctor, who is currently in hiding from the Faction; as such, he suggests that it's only natural they end up joining forces. Time will tell if this plays out. The Klingon Republic and Kahless Empire put aside their ideological differences and work together to join the war against the Goa'uld. Towa and Mira join forces with the Legends after Lord Drakkon betrays them. The Conspiracy (as represented by Ash, Dawn, and Spock) and Torchwood (represented by Jaime Reyes) put aside their rivalry to work together against the Seth-controlled Syrannites on Vulcan, as the cult is a threat to TeTO's stability, and both organizations have the goal of protecting the alliance as a whole. At one point during WWII/the Race invasion, Torchwood worked with the Race to defeat HYDRA and retrieve the Tesseract, as it made them a threat to both sides. A more radical faction, however, goes rogue with the ship, operating under the delusion that using it in a show of force will make both their government and Vulcan surrender to them. The Amazons of Bana-Mighdall betrayed the rest of their people to serve the Goa'uld, on the grounds that the Greek Gods did nothing to aid them. The Zhat Vash are disavowed by the Romulan government after their attempt to kill Hanka Kamiya and her Digimon partner, both to preserve relations with TeTO and because the government and its partners in the Pact of the Raptor don't share the group's hatred of digital lifeforms, instead seeing them as an asset. A heroic (or at least A Lighter Shade of Black) example in Andromeda, where Xanatos uses the fact that he's the only member of the Illuminati present in this galaxy to start building up his own version of the organization, built along his ideals. The heroic/morally grey part comes from the fact that his ideals are to use their secret control of society to do good, rather than for personal gain. HYDRA was a splinter faction of the Illuminati formed by their members in the Axis nations, who felt that openly ruling through fascism was better than the main brotherhood's MO of using the facade of democracy, so broke away to take power for themselves. | |

During the Vinn War, there's at least one example of a ship — the Japanese cruiser Ashigara — self-destructing in order to both destroy enough Vinn vessels for its surviving squad to escape, and to deny the Vinn access to their Warp engines to reverse-engineer. Also, during the Vinn War, Sky Marshal Erica Hernandez self-destructs her crippled ship in order to destroy a large number of Vinn ships. During the Continuum of Makers' battle with the Reaper Herald and its Indoctrinated fleet, a Maker ship destroys a larger vessel's Ring Drive with its own, creating an event which destroys Herald and all its ships. A similar move is used during the Final Offensive of the Reaper War, in order to defend the Continuum's homeworld. Trapped in a Conspiracy base being overrun by Collectors, Benezia and Hot Rod trigger the self-destruct, destroying themselves and whole facility in order to keep the Collectors from taking over the base's defenses and using them to destroy their colleagues' evacuation ship. Ramjet holds off a horde of Husks to allow Stealth Assault to escape with some turian refugees and is overrun. Xerneas overclocks its powers to restore life to all the Husks on ARC3-US, burning out its own life force in the process. When the Reapers invade Romulus and an invasion force marches on the capital, Ael T'Vrahu drives among them and lets herself be the target of an orbital strike in order to wipe them all out. Aria and Yondu Hold the Line against an army of Husks to allow a turian soldier to activate Palaven's planetary self-destruct and are overrun just before it's triggered. When a Kryptohusk is unleashed during the Second Battle of Sol, Superman restrains her long enough to call down an antimatter torpedo strike on their position, obliterating them both. During the assault on the Reapers' Dark Space base, the Maker Admiral Carad allows the last Kryptohusk to attack his ship, holding it still long enough for a Klingon ship to attack, destroying it along with the ship. Colonel Machimaki Benzo and his unit, trapped in a cavern full of Klikiss robots about to escape to the surface, set off explosives that kill them along with the robots. JJ Oliver sacrifices himself to destabilize Unicron's dark spark enough for the Doctor to drain it and merge it with the Super Energon in order to restore the worlds Unicron destroyed. | |

Philippa Georgiou grew up in Race territories on Earth, and becomes part of their military. Vibranium and Ninja Steel are the same substance. The events of Animorphs appear to be happening on Remnant instead of on Earth. Enetron is actually a mispronunciation of Energon. The events of Power Rangers RPM and Generator Rex end up occuring in the Mirror-verse. Furthermore, the Nanite Event is a final "screw you" from Venjix. Samantha Carter is descended from John Carter. Omni-Man tries to conquer Earth for the Viltrumites because the Dominion devastated them and they need a place far away to rebuild. Though it turns out that while he's been on Earth, the remaining Viltrumites were annexed by the Planet Trade Organization. Cora Harper and Seamus Harper are siblings. Lucca is an ancestor of Bulma and Trunks. Lavos and Jenova are Celestials. Excalibur is the same sword as Masamune. Hypnos is a division of the DEO. Picard's ancestor Renee was onboard the Commodore Perry. While most Picards settled in England after fleeing Nazi-occupied France, a few settled in Angel Grove. Eve was the result of a Torchwood program to create metahumans loyal to them. T'Kuma's breed of Klingons are a subspecies created by the Goa'uld mixing their DNA with that of the Unas. Remnant's Gods of Light and Darkness were the previous Grand Supreme Kai and God of Destruction. The Phoenix Gate was powered by the captive Phoenix Force. Jack Harper/the Illusive Man is a member of the Illuminati and acts as The Mole inside Stargate Command. Certain Marvel elements (including the Fantastic Four, Daredevil and Iron Fist) are transplanted to Gaea, along with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and Invasion America. The primary author has also stated that they plan to have the events of Falling Skies occur there. The events of Rom: Spaceknight are occuring in the Andromeda Galaxy. The Dire Wraith's current homeworld is sated to have been conquered from the Meeps. Mushroom World is located in the Andromeda Galaxy. Other Mario Bros. elements include the presence of Goombella and Mario and Luigi having the last name Mario. Mario, Luigi, Pauline, and Kongs (here depicted as an UpliftedAnimals) are colonists on Mirinoi, and the construction site where Mario and Donkey Kong have their first fight is stated to be the skyscraper where Xanatos plans to place a certain castle. | |

Vestigial Empire: The Gamilians are one of space-faring humanity's first major enemies, but after losing the Mekon War, they retreat and end up fracturing back into nation-states. Then they get invaded by the Reapers and rescued by the Romulans, to whom they become a Voluntary Vassal. The Citadel races. War with the Space Pirates heavily damage their economy and infrastructure, then the Mekon and his allies invade, annexing the batarians, damaging many of their key worlds, and detonating an Omega particle near the Citadel itself which makes FTL travel to the station difficult. They recover somewhat by offering seats on the Council to all member races, but after the Five Galaxies War, the quarians and krogan defect to TeTO, weakening them again. Then the Reaper War hits them even harder with Pavalan being destroyed and the turian Hierarchy effectively ceasing to exist. Following the war's end, the severely weakened Council eventually disbands out of necessity, the various members joining TeTO or the Pact, leaving just the Citadel itself as essentially a city-state. The Centauri Republic is almost completely dismantled by the Crusader Pact, Centauri Prime and its main colony being destroyed and them then being forced to abandon all colonies that previously belonged to other races. They rebuild from this remnant, however, becoming a sort of space Switzerland in later years. TeTO becomes this in the Mirror Universe after losing the Mekon War. Not only does the detonation of the Omega particles destroying their ability to use FTL in the heart of their territory heavily cripple them, but the Race abandon the alliance in order to avoid continuing conflict with the Mekon and his allies. The Klingon Empire goes into decline in the years following the Reaper War, due to being economically and technologically outmatched by all the other powers, with the societal tensions following the Praxis War not helping matters any. Following their second civil war, they're reduced to the Klingon Republic (a TeTO protectorate) and the Empire of Kahless (a hermit kingdom), the latter of which loses even more territory when the Unas Klingons rebel and split off to form the Pure Klingon Empire. After the Goa'uld War, the Goa'uld Empire is reduced to just Bastet's domain, wherein Bastet herself is just a powerless figurehead to the Ka'tee movement. | |

The Fringe Colonies see themselves as this. They were established by President Lex Luthor as a means of increasing the United States' autonomy from the rest of TeTO, and following his administration's downfall no one knew what to do with the colonies legally, so they were effectively cut loose, allowing them to consider themselves the only legitimate continuation of Luthor's government. By the time America tries to talk them back into the fold, they've grown to enjoy their autonomy so much that they formalize the split by joining the Shield Alliance instead of TeTO. As per Worldwar canon, the Free French forces in Polynesia are this in opposition to the Nazis' Vichy Puppet State, and later to the Race's similarly authoritarian Fourth Republic puppet. By the time the latter is overthrown and replaced by a constitutional monarchy, it's clear that the two states have diverged enough that reunification isn't feasible, so Free France restyles itself as the French Polynesian Republic, officially abandoning any claim to the mainland. | |

Realpolitik: Despite finding the people of Troyius repulsive, the Klingons still provide them with military and technological aid to counter TeTO's alliance with the neighboring world of Elas, as this gives them a foothold in the system. The quarians' reconciliation with the geth is purely to give them better standing against the Five Galaxies. After crowning herself Empress, T'Drak has the new Asari Empire join the Pact of the Raptor alongside their old enemies the Romulans, noting that it's the best way to restore their species' prestige. When Blackfire breaks her alliance with the Romulans and brings Tamaran into TeTO, TeTO looks the other way regarding the Romulan-backed coup which brought her into power in the first place due to preparing for the Reaper War and not having the time or resources to waste on removing her from power. After the war, they begrudgingly let her stay on as Queen (albeit with a transition to constitutional monarchy instead of absolute monarchy) since any other course of action would trigger a civil war which TeTO would get bogged down in. During the Revenant Crisis, when TeTO is aiding the Ildrian Empire in fighting the rouge Decepticons and Klikiss robots, the Pact of the Raptor also gets involved. Officially, this is due to viewing the machines as a mutual threat to all organic life, like the Reapers before them. In truth, however, they're trying to win the Ildrians over towards the idea of joining them instead of TeTO, thus increasing their bloc's power and resources. When Rimillia is discovered, Captain Georgiou offers to bring them into TeTO to help them terraform their hostile ecosystem and develop their primitive FTL technology to expand out of their system. In exchange, she admits, TeTO would get access to Rimillia's rich mineral resources and strategic location. The Shield Alliance doesn't hesitate to take advantage of the genetic disorder plaguing the Valakians, playing up their own knowledge of genetic engineering as a cure and ignoring the potential dangers of it, to convince them to join their bloc instead of TeTO. The Pact of the Raptor spreads propaganda of the Harvesters' and Vinn's past ways in order to besmirch the Shield Alliance's reputation and convince the Deltan Union to join them instead (they try to do the same to TeTO, but they have fewer skeletons in their closets). The Romulans back the Duras rebels in the Praxis War, as they're more friendly to the Pact of the Raptor than the TeTO-aligned Azetbur government. During the second Klingon civil war, TeTO can't directly intervene for political legal reasons, but still unofficially supply Azetbur's forces via the Conspiracy of Light, as the potential threat of reactionary forces regaining control of the Empire is too great to ignore. TeTO reluctantly agrees to let the Pact of the Raptor keep Vorl-tak technology when they justify it as a counter to TeTO's vast number of superhumans. This then leads to a treaty between them and the Shield Alliance to share all new technologies in order to keep any one bloc from gaining an advantage over the others. The Pact of the Raptor and Shield Alliance stay neutral in the Goa'uld War so that they can reap the benefits (per the aforementioned treaty) without any risk on their parts. The Romulan government and its partners in the Pact reject the Zhat Vash's fear and hate of digital lifeforms, seeing them as potentially too good an asset to throw away. Because of this, and to maintain good relations with TeTO, they officially disavow the Zhat Vash after their Assassination Attempt on Hanka Kamiya and her Digimon partner. The rest of the Shield Alliance is morally disgusted by the Bajorans' oppression of Cardassian colonists in the worlds Cardassia ceded them after the Praxis War, but unable to do anything about it because the Alliance's charter prevents intervention in a member polity's internal affairs. So to circumvent this, they coordinate with the Pact and TeTO to funnel weapons via the Conspiracy to a Cardassian resistance movement on the occupied worlds. When deciding who to transfer Amber's Maiden Powers to, it's decided to give them to Blake Belladonna because she's from a prominent Faunus family, and a Faunus Maiden would keep Menagerie in the pro-TeTO coalition by ensuring an ace in the hole won't be used against them. During the Peace Conference on Concourse following the end of the Goa'uld War, the decision to allow Bastet to keep her domain nearly makes the Tok'ra, Free Jaffa, and Dilgar all walk out in outrage, with them only being mollified by the fact that Bastet has been reduced to a powerless figurehead by the Ka'tee movement, who want to keep the domain intact as part of their beliefs about Katie's eventual return. The Zhat Vash have a fundamentalist hatred of AI, and Yggdrasil is an AI supremacist program, yet they work together to cause the AI Crisis, as each side realizes that it creates an opportunity to achieve their goals — Yggdrasil can use the crisis to set up a scenario to reset the Digital World, and the Zhat Vash will have a chance to finally eliminate all AI in GaTO space. | |

Evil Reactionary: The Race has to deal with a wave of terrorism by ultra-conservatives who despise the rapid changes made to their Empire ever since meeting humanity. Conservative elements among the Votanis Collective's military and civilian leadership are so opposed to joining TeTO that they eventually back Rahm Tak staging a Military Coup. During the Reaper War, the former leaders of the former Batarian Hegemony are indoctrinated and manipulated into starting a massive terror attack on the batarian homeworld, being so bad that the Romulans are forced to orbitally bombard several cities. This, combined with the sheer brutality shown by the terrorists, finally convinces the batarians that the "good old days" were anything but. The Bloodwine Society, a group of conservative Klingons who want to undo all of Azetbur's progressive reforms and restore the Klingon Empire to a warrior-dominated culture. When the Kahless clone emerges and also denounces these reforms, they're quick to ally with him and back him in the resulting Civil War. A short post summarizing the Pact of the Raptor's status at the start of the 24th century notes three distinct groups of conservative-minded individuals — the Sword of Gamilas, descendants of high-caste batarians who survived the purge following the above-mentioned Reaper War terrorism, and high-ranked members of Ildrian society — who all believe that their respective people's membership in the Pact is removing their cultural identities and making them Romulan puppets, and all of whom intend to act on their anger over it. The Syrannites are a group of Vulcans who despise anything that deviates from Surak's original teachings, to the point of wanting to secede from TeTO, and use terrorist attacks to get their point across. Making things even worse is that their leader is a host for the Goa'uld Seth. | |

The Alliance: The Terran Treaty Organization (TeTO) is initially a mutual defense pact and free trade agreement between the remaining human nations of Earth and all their colonies. However, over time it grows to include most of the alien races they become friendly with, until it's essentially Star Trek's United Federation (but remaining somewhat decentralized, thus keeping it from actually being a case of The Federation). During the Reaper War, the Romulans organize several other non-TeTO powers into the Pact of the Raptor, both for mutual defense and in order to compete with TeTO on a political and economic level. However, it is specifically stated to not be anti-TeTO in nature. Also, during the Reaper War, the Harvesters and Vinn, who aren't members of either of the above blocs, form an alliance of their own, and place numerous planets and polities also not part of either TeTO or the Pact under their protection. Following the war, they solidify as the Shield Alliance. During both the Five Galaxies and Reaper wars, all the major power blocs of the Alpha Quadrant come together to fight off their common enemies. The Crusader Pact, an alliance of most of the races in the Jumpgate Sector who come together to fight the Drahk. Following the Reaper War, the Continuum of Makers and the Grasskan Empire form a mutual defense pact, both to better prepare for potential future threats and to stay independent of the other growing power blocs. The Mirror Universe has a Klingon-Andorian alliance emerge in response to the crippling of TeTO and the Mekon and his allies conquering Citadel space. Later, they're joined by the turians, after the collapse of the Mekon's coalition and the rise of the Terran Empire. The Klingons never join TeTO but following the Praxis War they do forge a mutual defense and economic pact. In Katie's Bad Future, the Maker-Grasskan alliance grows into the Mutual Defense League, a coalition of minor Alpha and Beta Quadrant powers seeking to survive after the Galactic Empire conquers the major powers. During the Goa’uld War, TeTo is allied with the Yautja, the Klingons, the Free Jaffa, the Tok'ra, and the Crusader Pact. After the war, the latter two merge with TeTO, which is then rechristened the Galactic Treaty Organization (GaTO). | |

Gralem Cabcahal, a Middle-Management Mook in a batarian slavery ring whose POV is among those used to portray the Citadel races' initial reactions to meeting humanity, ultimately decides to quit the organization and go legitimate upon realizing that humans hate slavery and vastly outgun the batarians. With a joint Conspiracy/Power Ranger team breaking into the Torchwood base on ARC3-US, and a captive Dalek going on a subsequent rampage, Ianto flees as fast as he can. Bastet's reaction to the System Lords encountering TeTO is to declare herself neutral in the inevitable war, out of fear leftover from her encounter with Katie. Apparently, around the time Earth first started getting invaded on a regular basis, The Children of Oberon left not just the planet but the entire Milky Way, eventually ending up in Andromeda and settling on Mirinoi. The Goa'uld Seth likewise abandoned his hiding on Earth to escape the constant invasions and eventually ended up on Vulcan. The Rani eventually decides that the other Time Lords' plan to forge humanity into anti-Dalek soldiers is such a sign of desperation that she steals a TARDIS and flees Gallifrey to get off what she sees as a sinking ship. Near the end of the Goa'uld War, Ba'al and several likeminded System Lords realize that they're about to lose to the TeTO-led coalition, and flee to the Delta Quadrant with their remaining forces and enough resources to rebuild their empire. | |

Xanatos is willing to support all kinds of morally questionable methods of keeping the Andromeda colonists safe from whatever threats are lurking in their new galaxy. | |
