An alternate universe fanfiction adaptation of Princess Mononoke with hints of Inuyasha, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, The Incredible Hulk and even Ferngully The Last Rainforest by Stone-Man85. When seventeen-year-old Alex Killian moves from America to Tokyo, he is told of an ancient legend by his aunt. Anachronism Stew: Medical syringes apparently exist in the Muromachi Period (1392-1573), despite that they weren't invented until 1853 by a Scottish man and a French man. Night-vision goggles get a passing mention in chapter fourteen. Night-vision-anything didn't exist until 1929, when a Hungarian scientist created the infrared-sensitive electronic television camera. Artistic License – Geography: In the earliest chapters, the narrative places the setting of the fic in the area of Tokyo, Japan. The actual setting of Princess Mononoke, in fact, cuts a rough L-shape around Tokyo. In chapter one, Alex and his sister are waiting for their father at the Tokyo International Airport, after disembarking a flight from Miami, Florida. There is no Tokyo International Airport. There are, respectively, a Narita and Haneda National Airport, although Haneda appears not to have any connecting flights to or from the United States. | |
