The Greece chapter unsurprisingly contains many allusions to Classical Mythology. The challenge of that leg is to do watered down versions of Hercules' 12 Labors. MacArthur says to one boar "That'll do pig, that'll do". Josee mentions that the writers can't figure out how the Ice Dancers completed a task so quickly, either. Fabian also gets injured in a manner similar to Claire from season 17 of the Amazing Race. Jacques and Josee sing a song similar to "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?" from The Sound of Music. Annie calls out Josee for claiming she has a sugar daddy. The mindscapes of Jordan and Fabian are based off Inside Out. One of the challenges in Washington DC involves American literary classics like Moby-Dick, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Color Purple, Little Women, Silence of the Lambs, Jaws, Of Mice and Men, The Grapes of Wrath, Tom Sawyer, and To Kill a Mockingbird. MacArthur losing her passport also brings to mind Kaylani of season 19 losing hers. In Buenos Aires, Leo has 3 imagine spots of him June recreating famous dance scenes from the films Carefree, Top Hat and Dirty Dancing during the tango challenge.
