Adaptational Heroism: Downplayed, as while he did eventually become a good guy late into Race to the Edge, here Dagur the Deranged shows his devotion to his wife fairly early on and is essentially a protagonist the whole time (albeit the "Chaotic Neutral Blood Knight" type of protagonist). In the series, the Skrill plays antagonist for most of its appearances (also downplayed in that it becomes neutral to the riders in its latest appearance). Here, Hiccup manages to train it, befriend it and name it "Maelstrom", becoming Dagur's dragon. | |
