Ebola Syndrome is a 1996 Hong Kong exploitation film directed by Herman Yau, starring Anthony Wong during that period in his career where Wong becomes popular in films portraying serial killers, rapists, and sleazy scumbags. Revisiting similar plot elements to the earlier CAT-III film, The Untold Story (also starring Wong), the movie's excessive gore and disturbing elements made it a cult film for enthusiasts of over-the-top, nauseating, CAT-III cinema.Kai-san (Anthony Wong) is a serial killer who fled Hong Kong and made it to South Africa, where he ends up working in a Chinese restaurant in Johannesburg. When going on an errand in the rural Jo'berg countryside where an outbreak of Ebola virus had occurred, Kai ends up contracting the virus, where he decides to keep the virus spreading across Johannesburg for his own sadistic pleasure. | |
