Damn You, Muscle Memory!: In Kirby's Dream Land 3, she has numerous instances where she accidentally discards a Copy Ability or summons Gooey while attempting to dismount from an Animal Friend, due to how different the controls are across the Kirby series. Very much so lampshaded in Ocarina of Time 3D Master Quest. She thoroughly nitpicks the ocarina's rearranged button layout compared to the original N64's layout, making it much harder for her to remember each of the songs. To top it off, she displays a diagram for explanation. Paper Mario is littered with this in nearly every episode, as the Virtual Console port of the game has a significantly different default button map than the N64 original, despite the Wii U's controllers having enough buttons and directional inputs to parallel an N64 controller and then some.note (Both the Wii U's controllers and the N64 controller feature an A button, a B button, a Start button, an analog stick, a D-pad, and L, R, and Z triggers, while the Gamepad, Pro Controller, and Wii Classic Controllers all have a secondary analog stick that can substitute for the N64's C-buttons.) The button maps for Wii U Virtual Console titles can be customized, however. She struggles to adapt to the mechanics of the first Donkey Kong Country due to playing the Returns games first. | |

Running Gag: Reacting to the unnecessary text boxes redundantly describing items in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Repeatedly dying (or at least losing large amounts of health) in nearly every episode of Kirby's Dream Land 3, with the clincher being the fact that Kirby games are designed to be easy. "SO PRETTY!" in Super Mario Sunshine. More often that not, she keeps getting bananas at the end barrel in Donkey Kong Country Returns. She has a tendency to call Mallow Geno, and often doesn't notice. Post-production text pops up now and then to take note of that. She constantly refers to ship parts in Pikmin as treasures, with post-production text keeping a counter. As the gag went on, she goes to correct herself. In Paper Mario, Merlee appearing to aid when her spells are not necessary. Also in Paper Mario, when she catches sight of Chuck Quizmo, immediately forgetting what she was doing to shout "CHUCK QUIZMO!!!" In later episodes of Super Mario Galaxy, her increasingly frustrated post-editing annotations pointing out that she keeps ignoring a shortcut that would get her to the Garden Dome at the top of the Comet Observatory faster. | |
