The Order of the Stick: When the Snarl's origins are expanded on in one of the later arcs, this is used to explain its massive power. Each of the godly pantheons has its own unique wavelength for their power, with its own color — yellow for the Northern gods, blue for the Southern gods, red for the Western gods, and green for the deceased Eastern gods. Furthermore, anything made by just one of these (including the gods themselves) is weaker than what's made by combining them, including the Snarl, however accidental its creation was. With only three pantheons left, the Snarl (with the energy of four pantheons powering it) is literally more powerful than all the gods put together. This is why each time a new world is created to seal the Snarl in, it always eventually breaks free and destroys it, requiring the gods to start over from scratch. Now matter how well-designed the seal might be, the Snarl will eventually just overpower it. Thor reveals that with the (relatively) recent ascension of the goblin deity the Dark One (who is unaffiliated with existing pantheons and thus has his own wavelength, purple), there's now actually a chance to fight the Snarl evenly. | |

Super Sentai and Power Rangers have frequently used this (very literally in the case of JAKQ). Originally, the general theme was that no one team member could finish off a monster of the week alone, but as time went on the members became more powerful. That said, the 'combined team weapon' has been a solid presence throughout and is not likely to go away. Usually, said weapon is so big it requires the whole team to hold it up and fire it. Both franchises regularly feature the "Team Bazooka", a BFG which is either each Ranger's individual weapon combined together, or a stand-alone weapon charged by a combination of everyone's energies. Taken to a new level in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger's movie The Great Dinosaur War, which saw the return of the Zyuranger and Abaranger teams (later adapted as a multi-part Crossover episode of Power Rangers Beast Morphers). The three dinosaur teams take their combined weapons and combine those together into an even Bigger FG made of 14 individual weapons. Also, the Megazords sort-of count. Usually, they're formed from the combination of several Zords that each have the color of the Ranger that controls it, making their combined Megazord forms quite colorful. A straight example of the Trope would be Wild Force Megazord's Mega Roar, in which each component Zord fired a beam in each Ranger's color, combining them into a downright purty gi-normous beam of destruction.
