Chippendales note founded by Somen "Steve" Banerjee, who died October 23, 1994 is a club known for pretty much one thing: attractive, muscular men who strip, dance and perform stage shows for female-only audiences, not necessarily in that order. The club is more or less synonymous with 'male strippers', although its intention is to be more than just strippers, instead 'fulfilling women's fantasies' and flirting with the female patrons on the whole.note And yes, this fanservice is geared towards women and not queer men. Male strippers that perform for men are known as "go-go dancers" and they have totally different norms. The clubs they perform at are basically just gay bars with live entertainment, and such venues are relatively tame compared to Chippendales-style clubs. Probably the most iconic thing to come from Chippendales would be the variety of fanservice-y outfits. Indeed, the most common reference to Chippendales is the dancers' costumes, the most classic version being a pair of trousers, a collar with a bowtie (sometimes cuffs, too), and nothing between them. Some might consider this to be the Spear Counterpart to the Playboy Bunny. note And it really is; one of the co-founders was Paul Snider, infamous murderer of Playboy Playmate Dorothy Stratten. It was he who suggested male dancers, and he may well have been inspired by the collar-and-cuffs outfits the Bunnies wore. Occasionally, this will be done literally by adding bunny ears to the costume, especially if they're accompanying a bunny-suited female. Not to be confused with the Disney characters Chip 'n Dale, nor with the English furniture maker Thomas Chippendale (or Chairface Chippendale, for that matter). The Disney characters are named after the furniture maker, and long predate the dancers. |

In an episode of the The Cosby Show where the women are arguing about Theo wanting to get a stripper for Martin's belated bachelor party, they cite how degrading it is to women. Elvin asks about the reverse situation, which the women dismissively state as "different", but Elvin mentions that a medical school classmate of his worked as a stripper and that his experiences were often just as degrading as what female strippers endure.

The Simpsons: In the episode “Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie”, Mrs. Krabappel is expressing concern at Parents' Night with Bart's dismal performance in school, and tells Marge, "There's no telling how low he could go." Marge has an Imagine Spot, in which Bart grows up to be a (very unhappy, and very fat) stripper in a Chippendale outfit (with the twist of a cowboy hat and gun holster, and the stage name "Bang Bang Bart"), with girls boo-ing him.

Whose Line Is It Anyway? has had many references, notably a game of Party Quirks in the UK version, where it was Tony Slattery's secret identity. He went so far as to unzip his fly. From which Paul Merton deduces: "You've come as Tony Slattery!" The US version has done this to Wayne specifically, once as a "singing strippogram" for Song Styles, and once in Weird Newscasters, leading to Colin saying "proof that football is just a game of inches." In at least two games of Superheroes, Ryan Stiles dubbed a fellow performer "the Chippendale Kid": to Tony Slattery as mentioned above, and Chip Esten on the US version. |

Tales Series: Tales of Symphonia: An Averted Trope. While the Spear Counterpart of Playboy Bunny appears, in the form of the employees at Altamira’s casino with Raine also getting a costume in one version of the game, no such outfit of this trope is given to any male Player Character like Lloyd Irving or any male Fanservice Extra. Tales of Vesperia: Played with by the fact that this trope does appear as an outfit for one of the male playable characters along with a Playboy Bunny outfit for one of the girls. However, the outfit is given to Karol Capel, who is the youngest male Player Character in the game if not the entire series, in the form of “Black Tights” and a red neckerchief. |

Thankfully, this works from him being exposed due to two factors: the first is due to his overcoat having been recently shaved off by Gohin making him look unrecognizable but not to the point where the aforementioned lion states that he looks familiar and the second being that their new leader Louis the red deer, who he had until recently went to Cherryton Academy with, purposefully ignoring him and not calling his bluff.

Final Fantasy: Final Fantasy VII: An Averted Trope. While the Spear Counterpart of Playboy Bunny appears in the form of the Honeygirls at the Honeybee Inn, no clothes exist for Zack Fair, Cloud Strife or any of the male player characters and no male Fanservice Extra exist in the form of this trope. Final Fantasy XIV: The player can invoke this trope themselves thanks to the armor system, with the Hrothgar race being the most popular and are officially named the “Furry Chippendales” or “Chip n Dale Dancer”. |

Spider-Man: In The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #298, shortly after he married Mary Jane, Peter was inspired by the cover of People magazine (which featured the club) to dress like one to surprise MJ; unfortunately, MJ had invited her photographer home for coffee when he did it. (Cue horrific embarrassment scene.)

Team Fortress 2: While sadly no community created outfits depict any of the nine mercenaries in these outfits, there are plenty of fanart depicting all nine of them in such outfits which the fans collectively dub them “The Tuxxies” as can be seen here.

City Hunter: The 2019 anime film, City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes, reveals that in addition to being a Hitman with a Heart, Ryo Saeba is also an amazing male stripper with a heart of gold. This fact is revealed when he takes a client by the name of Ai Shindo, who he is currently doing a case for in which he has to protect her, and tries to cheer her up by performing as the strip club’s as the main attraction. Once on stage he shows off his shameless fanservice guy chops by first appearing on stage wearing nothing but a big red bow tie around his neck with a silver tray in one hand and a jug of red juice in the other that he uses as a form of Hand-or-Object Underwear in his routine that has him quickly switch between the two objects so that the audience is mostly prevented from seeing his Gag Penis. The emphasis on the “mostly” part as there is one time during his routine when he was taking a swig from the jug and accidentally dropped the tray giving the audience a nice view but sadly the tv audience is not given the same view as a crow Gag Censor is used to prevent a Male Frontal Nudity scene.

In Drop the Dead Donkey , after Helen complains British men are too repressed, Dave and Henry respond by appearing as "The Choppendales" for Joy's birthday, lathered up in oil and wearing leather outfits and little else. Unfortunately, this coincides with a visit from the Moral Guardians.
