A character tries to fatten another character (or animal) like livestock, usually under the pretense of a friendly dinner or banquet in order for them to be big enough to eat or die of obesity, or does it unintentionally as they want to pamper their guest out of compassion. If the guest refuses to eat, the character might try Force Feeding them instead. This plan sometimes works or can backfire as the designated "victim" might outsmart the character and cause them to fall into their own trap like getting pushed into an oven. Another variant is when the victim convinces their captor to "fatten them up" first to bide time for an escape plan.
Related to I'm a Humanitarian and To Serve Man. Will often be followed by Cooking the Live Meal. See Weight Loss Horror for cases where losing weight is played horrifically.

Fat Princess is a Capture The Flag-based game, where the flags are represented by princesses. A princess can be fed cake, making her fatter, and therefore harder for the opposing team to pick up and carry.

Tom and Jerry: In the episode "That's My Mommy" Tom finds a small duckling that believes he is its mother. As a result Tom decides to eat the duckling. He wants to make stuffed roast duck and feeds the duckling stuffing to fatten him up significantly before placing him in a tray for cooking. Jerry manages to save him from that particular incident, but the duckling refuses to listen to his warnings, and even after finding out that the recipe calls for duck, he decides to jump into boiling water himself to Tom's shock. When he says that he still loves his "mommy" before making the leap, Tom refuses to let it happen. The ending shows Tom happily teaching the duckling how to swim like a duck.
This trope was also utilized in one episode of Tom and Jerry Tales where a pride of lions provide Tom and Jerry with a huge banquet of food to fatten them up for their next meal.

The Simpsons:
Zig-zagged in the first "Treehouse of Horror" episode: The Simpsons are abducted by aliens, who claim that they will take the family to their heaven-like planet. While on the ship, they are fed a lot and are weighted after each meal. Lisa then finds a book that is titled "How to cook Humans". One alien then blows off some dust on the cover, revealing that the book is actually called "How to cook for Humans". Lisa then blows some more dust off, making the title "How to cook forty Humans". Finally, the alien blows one last bit of dust, revealing that the full title of the book is "How to cook for forty Humans". The aliens were horrified that the Simpsons believe they would eat them, and get fed up with how rude they were by pigging out. Then the aliens take them back home while telling them about the infinite pleasure they would have had on their planet.
The final short of Treehouse of Horror V "Nightmare Cafeteria" is about the teachers of Springfield Elementary becoming cannibals and killing and eating their students (as well as serving them in the lunch room). Whilst they kill pretty much all the children without fattening them up Edna Krabbappel does set a homework task of "Eat A Stick Of Butter" at one point.
The second short of Treehouse of Horror XI, "Scary Tales Can Come True", is a parody of classic fairytales. At one point Lisa and Bart get captured by the Wicked Witch from Hansel and Gretel, leading to the following conversation:

Thisseems to be at play in Coraline. Par for the course, the Other Mother gives visiting children large quantities of food, but she then eats them but the three Ghost Children say she "ate up our (their) lives". However, it's very possible she ate their bodies too as the only physical remnants of the three Ghost Children's bodies are a single eye. Coraline's visit is no different as the Other Mother almost always has mini buffet-sized meals of delicious and fattening foodstuffs on hand for Coraline.

Subverted in the Rocko's Modern Life episode, "Who's For Dinner?"; Heffer (a steer) was found as a baby by a family of wolves who attempted to do this after his real father disowned him. They managed to fatten him up perfectly, but they had begun to view him as part of their own family, so they chose not to eat him (he had actually grown up thinking he really was part of their family).

A family on a farm in The Walking Dead offers Lee and his friends a place to stay and a lot of food, which was a massive blessing since Lee's group was running out of food previously. Lee and Kenny discover a room in the barn that looks like a slaughterhouse and suspect something isn't right with the family. Their fears are completely correct as they quickly find out that the family had chopped off their wounded friend's legs and used said legs as the meat in the dinner everyone was eating that night. Once Lee's group realizes that the family are cannibals and were fattening them up to make more "meat" out of them, the family turns hostile and locks them up at gunpoint.

Plus-Sized Elf: In chapter 10, Naoe starts mysteriously putting on weight, and finds out it's due to the influence of a mischievous satyr who's been enchanting him into sleep-eating all night so she can feed off his "desire". Unfortunately, after driving off the trickster he has to lose the excess weight the old-fashioned way. Yet after being humiliated by Elfuda, Satyr would plan revenge against her and Naoe...
Three chapters later, Satero disguised as a buxom manager of Bad Burger, successfully tempted Elfuda and Naoe with a year’s supply of french fries. The pair later became hooked to the fries thanks to Satero casting an addictive enchantment on their meals(not to mention Elfuda having no self-control) and kept feeding them free fries every day as they gained weight from this fattening diet. All so Satero could have her revenge and humiliate them once they grown too fat to wear any clothes. After weeks of eating nothing but french fries, Elfuda had become fattened up to the point that the outfit she wore at the start of the chapter, is the only clothing left that could barely fit around her plump and portly body. The same going for Naoe as well who becomes just as big as Elfuda. yet the tubby duo almost either didn’t seem to care or noticed how fat they’d gotten and just wanted to eat more fries until Kueroda and Oga snapped them out of their french fry bliss and made them aware of the Satyr’s trickery. Once the tricksters scheme so thwarted the duo are able to lose the extra weight and slim down to normal…well except for Elfuda who is once again stuck with a potbelly.

The Promised Neverland has a unique variation: since the demons prefer Brain Food, luxury meals are "fattened" by being put through a rigorous educational program during their childhood, which is what happens to the children of Grace Field Orphanage. This delicacy process backfires when some of the kids at Grace Field learn the truth about what's going to happen to them, and no longer clouded by naïveté, manage to use their honed intelligence to outwit their captors and formulate an escape plan before setting off to overthrow the corrupt demons' rule.

A Goosebumps book, "Attack of the Jack o'Lanterns", took place during Hallowe'en. Two of the characters appear to be kids who are friends of the protagonists, wearing pumpkin masks over their whole head. They take the protagonists and the bullies who are forcing them to trick or treat with them, to a hidden suburb behind a forest where everybody has a pumpkin head. The Pumpkin Head kids force the other kids to take as much candy as they can carry in pillowcases, then eat everything in the bag. Then, they try to force the kids to go for more. The bullies run off and leave the protagonists but the pumpkin heads turn out to be superpowered aliens who are the protagonists' friends. But then, after they laugh at the bullies running scared, they admit that they actually eat fat adults, but the protagonist is not old enough or fat enough yet.

To-Ri, the avian mailman in Tribal Hunter is shown to be gorging on a bounty of food and is very fat. When Munch meets him, To-Ri tells him that the pigs on the island have given him all the food he could want and he decides to retire early. Munch points out that the pigs are only feeding him a lot just to fatten him up before eating him. To-Ri is s shocked by the revelation and decides to end his retirement so he can lose weight and help the islanders once more. Garfield and Friends has two incidences of this.
In the episode "Nighty Nightmare", near the end of Garfield's Dream Sequence, it is revealed that the reason Garfield was eating every scrap of food in the world and growing to gigantic proportions was because an alien was using a mind-control ray on him to fatten him up for Thanksgiving dinner for the planet Clarion.
In the episode "Pest of a Guest", Garfield exploits this trope and makes a freeloading cat who's been faking being sick think this is what his going to happen to him. He makes a recipe card that has one kitty cat as the main ingredient to Jon's casserole. Later Jon (who doesn't know what Garfield did) casually mentions to the cat "we've got to fatten you up" and that the casserole is Odie's favorite dish. Odie licks him and that cat thinks Odie is tasting him, causing him to flee from the house.

One Piece:
During the Little Garden Arc, Nami and Usopp at first assume Broggy the Giant is doing this by offering them a huge shank of meat. In reality, the giants - though hailing from a Blood Knight culture - are completely friendly to outsiders. And in any case, the island's dinosaurs give them more than enough to eat; a human wouldn't even be an appetizer for them.
Used by Buggy as a metaphor to explain why he's not rushing to take revenge on Luffy; Just as a witch fattens up children before eating them, he's going to wait until Luffy's reputation gets really big, which means that when (Theoretically) defeats Luffy, his own rep will grow even larger.

On Sinbad the Sailor's Fourth Voyages, this happened to his crew; they were "befriended" by natives who fed them food laced with a herb (implied to be bhang) which robs them of their sense of reason, before fattening them. Played With in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. When Bowser gets to the deeper portions of his castle (which Fawful has taken over), he finds himself at a massive table for a feast and Boos proceed to feed Bowser several dozen dishes which leaves Bowser looking utterly rotund at the end and heavy enough to break a hole in the floor just by taking a step. Unlike most instances of this trope, there's no intention of eating Bowser... fattening him up was just a measure to immobilize the Koopa King. And it works very well.
