When hashtags are used for comedic purposes. It is mostly used in these two scenarios: The hashtags are way too specific, too long, too numerous, and usually pretty wacky but taken completely seriously by the user. Mostly seen in fiction to mock Phoneaholic Teenagers, especially if they post their tweets at inappropriate timings or frequently punctuate their phrases with spoken hashtags. The hashtags are Puns, Shout-Outs and/or deliberate Overly Long Gags. Those are mostly used in Real Life by social media users and have become quite common. Can overlap with #EngineeredHashtag if the advertised product or Show Within a Show is self-aware or a deliberate parody of the practice. Compare Trade Snark, the corporate version that predates the Internet, and Faux Computer Code, which were used in the pre-Twitter days of the internet. Also compare to Clickbait Gag, another appropriation of an internet trend for comedy's sake. No Real Life Examples, Please! We don't really want to hear all the clever puns that your friends posted last week on Twitter. You can still post them directly on the Creators pages. |

At the end he discusses with the hashtag: He uses #RAPEY again in his Bruno Mars' "Gorilla" review (which coincidentally is the song used to describe the Hashtag Rap trope), finding it rather scary that "pop songs that sound like a rapist" has turned into a Running Gag.
