A comedic twist on the old-fashioned Jekyll & Hyde story.
Two characters end up together inside a Mad Scientist's laboratory. They may have been sent there to investigate the place, or may have stumbled into it by chance.
Either way, during their stay, The Fool of the two stupidly drinks some concoction found lying around, or activates some Transformation Ray, or otherwise messes with a piece of phlebotinum, resulting in him being changed into a twisted Hyde-like version of himself with greenish skin and mayhem on the mind.
Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })The slightly-less foolish character stumbles upon the monstrous form of The Fool and suffers some sort of Amusing Injuries as a result. Now, terrified that there's some kind of creature loose in the lab, he sets out to find The Fool and get the heck out of there.
Hilarity Ensues as his attempts to find safety with (and for) The Fool only put him in murderously close range to the actual threat. The Fool has no idea he is the monster, and has no ability to control when and where his transformations occur.
This trope may be related to Mistaken for Own Murderer, in which a disguised/transformed person is attacked for killing his ordinary self.

The Inspector section: In the episode "Sicque! Sicque! Sicque!" , the Inspector and Sgt. Deux-Deux are called to investigate a mad scientist's laboratory. Sgt. Deux-Deux is The Fool and drinks a potion he finds in a beaker to calm his acid reflux because he believes it's water. Never mind the sick green color and the bubbles. It turns him into a monster that goes to torment the Inspector, who, of course, doesn't know it's Sgt. Deux-Deux.

Looney Tunes:
Hyde And Go Tweet: On top of the Jekyll & Hyde premise, the short also includes a Hyde and Seek routine with Tweety being The Fool that consumes the Mr. Hyde formula because he Failed a Spot Check and Sylvester as the partner unaware of that. So, whenever Tweety changes back to normal, Sylvester is still trying to eat him.
"Hyde and Hare": Bugs Bunny convinces the man who always feeds him at the park to adopt him. The man, Dr. Jekyll, already verges on Uncanny Valley territory with his too-big head and small hands. However, when he drinks the red concoction he's prepared at his laboratory and that he's addicted to, he becomes a green, red-eyed monster with hairy limbs. Bugs Bunny doesn't realize Mr. Hyde's real identity until he transforms in front of him while trapped in a closet. Then Bugs goes to the lab and off-screen drinks the red concoction — when he returns to the park, he slowly changes into a monster and scares the elderly without understanding why. In this case, The Fool that turns into Mr. Hyde is also the partner now knowing the other can transform into a monster.
"Dr. Jerkyl's Hide": Sylvester hides in Dr. Jerkyl's laboratory while running away from the dogs Alfie and Chester. There, he mistakes a beaker full of a red, fizzy liquid with soda, so he drinks it to quench his thirst. A few seconds later and he's transformed into a strong, bigger monster cat. When Alfie, the largest dog, Sylvester makes quick work of him twice. Meanwhile, Chester only gets to see Sylvester when he reverts back, so he never understands why his boss is afraid of a cat. Later, Alfie causes the liquid to fall on a fly, who also kicks his ass.

The Pink Panther (1974):
The Dogfather section: The episode "Watch The Birdie" is a Recycled Script of "Dr. Jerkyl's Hide" with the dog gang in the role of, well, the dogs and a yellow bird in Sylvester's role, i.e., drinking a weird liquid thinking it's soda while hiding from his pursuers.
