So you have plans for supper. Problem is, nothing's going right. The oven's broken, the food is frozen or inedible, no pans are available, and/or you're pressed for time. No need to fear; there's always at least one restaurant nearby to resolve this plight so no one goes hungry! There are two types: openly taking guests to the restaurant or discreetly buying the restaurant food and serving it on your own plates, to trick the guests. This is not uncommon for Real Life families to do this when dinner plans don't go the way they should, making this Truth in Television. May be used as an alternative for a Masochist's Meal. "Discover America": When all the food for the cookout ends up wrecked, pizza is once again the substitute used to replace it. The B-plot of the 2021 reboot episode, "Rattled" involves Grandpas Lou and Boris attempting to make Stu and Didi's favorites for dinner; mushroom rigatoni and lemon chicken. Cue her coming back to see that the house ordered pizza while she was out, making her entire second trip useless. In the short, "Give Pizza a Chance", all the food in the refrigerator spoils when Bloo leaves the door open, so Frankie gets Wilt to order pizza. When Frankie discovers that the pizza he ordered for the house is over the budget they have, Bloo tackles the Pizza man and gets Eduardo to sit on him for thirty minutes so they can get free pizza. |

Animaniacs (1993): One short is a take on the famous "Witch's scene" from Macbeth, in which the three witches (played here by Dot Warner, Hello Nurse and Slappy Squirrel) recite the lines from the same scene in the play, while Yakko translates it into something the audience will understand. The first time, Ramona as an experiment shoves a dozen eggs, shells and all, into the batter, and starts the electric mixer. To distract her while Mother bakes the second cake, Beezus reads Hansel and Gretel to Ramona; when Ramona pretends to be Hansel, spilling cracker crumbs on the rug, Beezus suggests that she pretends to be Gretel instead. Ramona then shoves her doll into the oven while the cake is baking, pretending to push the witch in to get baked.
