If he gets away with it, he may even inspire others to do the same. Often, Bob's change to his uniform comes from finding a loophole — the rulebook says "black shirt, shoes, socks, and pants," but says nothing about silly hats or tearing the sleeves off the shirts. Essentially a Dress Code, but not a strict Uniform. This is often done to make characters more visually interesting while still keeping a team feel. In real life, this is a key reason why novelty socks and neckties, unusual earrings and watches, etc., are so popular. It's especially popular with men in the corporate world, who tend to have fewer options for "proper" attire than women. This trope often applies to Superhero Team Uniforms. Custom Uniform of Sexy is also usually this, but with a specific Fanservice angle. Compare Custom Uniform — while that one is "I won't wear the real one, so I'll wear whatever I damn well please," this is "I'll wear the real one, but I'll make mine different than everyone else's." Also compare Transfer Student Uniforms; "technically I'm just wearing my old uniform while I wait for the new one to be delivered, but it's also visual shorthand for my New Transfer Student status."

The Red Ranger has a gear-shaped crest sticking out of the back of the helmet like a topknot and a large pink peach symbol on his helmet unlike the rest of the Rangers, who have a much smaller gold one. The Yellow Ranger has shoulder spikes. The Blue Ranger who is based on a Japanese macaque is bulkier than the other rangers and has a vest that exposes his abs, fur covered arms, and a red patch on his butt. The Pink Ranger has wings and super-long legs that end in boots resembling talons. The Black Ranger is smaller than the rest of the Rangers, has cartoony body proportions, and has a tail. When the rangers change into their Super Mode they become even less uniform, with pink and black no longer even being humanoid in shape. The Sixth Ranger of the team has an almost entirely different suit style and doesn't even wear the same style of belt as the other rangers and doesn't even wear the team's peach logo anywhere. The only similarities are having a similar visor and mouth plate style. The violet ranger who doesn't join the team until the last episode has a red visor and a black headband and replaces the peach symbol with a shark. He also has a slightly different chest piece that has a fishnet pattern around the neck.

Any given junior team such as New Mutants or Generation X usually have a standard school uniform, but some may modify it to accommodate their powers, "sex it up", or discard it completely to signify leader or lone wolf status. Even with the original X-Men, everyone's outfit was slightly different to accommodate their powers, etc. Cyclops had the visor, Jean's outfit was feminized (her cowl allowed her hair to flow out; eventually replaced with a unique mask), Iceman only wore shorts and boots since he was covered in snow (later ice) most of the time, Beast didn't wear gloves or shoes (the latter so that he could make use of his prehensile feet; this was when he still looked human except for being The Big Guy and having abnormally large hands and feet), and Angel had his wings sticking out the back. During The '90s, all X-Men had yellow and blue uniforms that they mostly used during training sessions, although they were occasionally worn in battle. During Grant Morrison's run, they all wore black and yellow leather and briefly went with blue and yellow variations. The original New Mutants wore a black and yellow variation of the original costumes (without the masked cowls), but team maverick (and later team leader) Dani Moonstar wore fringed brown leather boots and a turquoise-studded belt instead of the regulation yellow ones to affirm her Cheyenne identity. It was explained to the original team that their individual costumes were symbols of graduation for Xavier's School. The new team were not students and so continued to wear the costumes they already wore. The New Mutants wore the school uniform and at one point decided to wear their graduation costumes on a mission, including a discussion of the symbolism of doing so. Kitty Pryde initially wore a school uniform but soon designed several (hideous) costumes. When she was temporarily removed from the X-Men and placed with the New Mutants she was required to wear the uniform again. There was a time period in the early 90's when the X-Men wore matching uniforms to signify their unity as a team, as they had gotten back together after having gradually disbanded following Inferno. During this time, Gambit wore his headgear and occasionally his trenchcoat, while Banshee wore his signature striped cape (implied to help him fly), and a shirt collar like the one on his old costume.

There are only two blatantly incorrect uniforms, and they both have plot behind them: Riley is technically a non-enlisted science officer and explicitly says she customized her uniform, and Kai is a man on paper, having taken her deserting brother's place, and wears her own clothes under the regulation sniper's cloak.

He also wears yellow and black suspenders and a yellow and black belt instead of a silver belt. Interestingly, when Right briefly uses the orange suit in the last episode the gloves and boots are white instead (This might be because the orange suit's regular user is a reformed shadow). The epilogue movie adds a seventh ranger who uses the same helmet as the sixth but otherwise looks the same as the core rangers except for also having his chest number in the center with six lines coming off of it instead of four. The red ranger of the team also has a noticeably different helmet than the rest of the rangers because all the other rangers are based on modern trains while red is based on a steam engine. This trope is played for laughs in one of the movies where each of the core five rangers gets an animal-themed upgrade. Three of them get new weapons attached to their gloves, and one gets wings attached to his arms, but the pink ranger gets her suit almost entirely replaced with a panda costume, because she has the strongest imagination.

Vacuo's boys stand out because it's clear their "uniform" is just "we put shirts on, what else do you want?" Justified by a period a few decades prior to the events of the series when the four kingdoms went through a bout of enforced uniformity and cultural repression in a thoroughly wrong-headed attempt to prevent Grimm incursions through Emotion Suppression. It had the exact opposite effect to what it was intended to do, made even worse by blatant selective enforcement, and the relaxed attitude to dress codes is a legacy of the backlash against that period in history.

Crazy native-American accessories? All acceptable. It was all especially noticeable since their villainous adversaries, Cobra, had a pretty solid uniform. Over time the series has gotten over this and in most modern incarnations the Joes still don't wear uniforms, but at least dress appropriately for a warzone. There's also plenty of cases of them wearing their dress uniforms, implying the usual eclectic set-up isn't always in effect. In the comic series from Devil's Due, Rock 'N Roll leaps at the chance to rejoin the team when he hears it is being reformed as it means he can ignore dress regulations and is allowed to regrow his beard.

This would be avoided by Welkin, who wore his commander's uniform exactly as it was meant to be worn, except he is the only person who doesn't have a uniform variation and therefore stands out because of it. In the game's artbook, the character designer refers to this trope (from his end at least) as a "believable lie": How to give characters distinctive appearances while maintaining some semblance of military decorum. The Watsonian Hand Wave is Squad 7 being an activated civilian militia and get away with a bit more than the enlisted troops. Valkyria Chronicles 4 does star enlisted forces, and they're generally much better about wearing the uniform, although headgear is all over the place (everything from a non-regulation braid to a knight's helmet). There are only two blatantly incorrect uniforms, and they both have plot behind them: Riley is technically a non-enlisted science officer and explicitly says she customized her uniform, and Kai is a man on paper, having taken her deserting brother's place, and wears her own clothes under the regulation sniper's cloak.

The gold suit, which was the primary Sixth Ranger of the season, had blue highlights instead of yellow ones and highlights in more places and his personal insignia on a blue triangle instead of a yellow triangle, and the rest of the yellow triangles on the suits were removed, and one of the silver stripes was replaced with a silver lightning bolt shape. He also had two shoulder pads instead of only one and his had bigger spikes. And his Super Mode gives him gold spikes on his arm instead of silver ones. The grey and cyan suits both replaced the yellow parts of the suit with a dull gold or brass color. The violet suit was completely standard. The silver suit and navy suit turned all of the normally silver parts of the suits gold. The navy suit also replaced most of the yellow parts of the suit with silver except for the emblem and had a fin on the shoulder pad instead of spikes. When the navy suit was being used by a villain, it had dark red arms and red highlights on the helmet, and also added two more gold fins to the right arm in the same places where the six main suits got spikes in their Super Mode.

Though this has the distinction of being the only accessory on this list that would provide a useful function (keeping your hair out of your face which would be extremely useful in the Jefferies tubes). It makes sense given that Starfleet has always allowed officers to have long hair. Next Generation had Troi, who for the majority of the show wore what appeared to be a Custom Uniform of Sexy. She doesn't begin wearing uniforms until late in the show's run when a visiting Captain complains about it and only returns to her counselling outfits a few years later. Every specialty wears clothes of the same cut, but the colors are different - helping the reader to tell the French Guards (blue) from the Royal Allemand (greenish maroon) when they fight during the Paris riots. Since officers pay for their own uniforms, the only uniform thing they wear is the rank badge, everything else is based on their personal tastes. In fact Oscar, the protagonist, goes through five different "uniforms" as she changes job (a white one as lieutenant in the Gardes du Corps, a red one after she's promoted to colonel, a blue-and-gold one after she transfers to the French Guards, and two different dress uniforms), with only the French Guards uniform sharing the main color (blue) with her troops and the dress uniforms being actual plot points (she wears the first one at court once as part of her attempts to cover for Marie Antoinette's affair with Fersen, and procures the second one as she's preparing to foil her father's attempt to get her married off). Girodelle, Oscar's second-in-command in the Gardes du Corps, also changes uniform after she leaves and he's promoted to succeed her.

As for the tops, Sara wears a hoodie and Benny wears a short-sleeved sweater vest, while AJ and Lucita wear long-sleeved shirts. Interestingly enough, these outfits sync up somewhat with their out-of-school clothes.

Although the Night's Watch all wear black, there is no standard-issue uniform, not even a cloak, they simply can't afford it. Whatever you show up wearing or carrying gets dyed black and that's your "uniform". After joining the Kingsguard, Sandor Clegane occasionally wore the white armour, but mostly just wore his old gear with the white cloak, and eventually not even that, indicating his disdain for the Kingsguard and knighthood as an institution. Similarly, after becoming Commander of the City Watch, Bronn flat out refused to wear his uniform, especially the customary gold cloak. Gregor Clegane's Kingsguard armour is a solid bronze colour rather than enamelled white and has a face-concealing greathelm to hide the fact that he's a zombie.

Color-coding is the most obvious difference, but apart from personal insignia, most suits also sport variations in the helmets (sometimes entirely different ones, sometimes just different visor shapes) and other detailing: for instance, the cat-themed Juken Sentai Gekiranger and Power Rangers Jungle Fury has the Red Ranger sport tiger stripes and the Yellow Ranger with cheetah spots. The Sixth Ranger usually deviates from the pattern more than the others, but not so much that they don't look like part of the team. The same goes for civilian uniforms: Your Ranger color will show up somewhere in place of the generic color of the rank-and-file members of your Heroes "R" Us organization, and you might have a patch with your number/Chest Insignia/animal/etc. In this, too, you can count on extra flourish for the Sixth Ranger. Himitsu Sentai Gorenger: The pink ranger and the red ranger both have several differences between them and the other three rangers. Pink and red both wear white gloves and boots instead of black ones. Pink has a red visor instead of a black one and the number on the front of the helmet and the stripes on the back are red instead of white. Her helmet also includes earrings which can be used as bombs. The red ranger has a blue visor and the number on his helmet is yellow and has wings to show that he is the leader. He also has a yellow stripe on his chest while everyone else has a different number of red stripes and he wears a gun holster on one leg and he also has a taller collar and the silver line on the front of the suit goes all the way up to his visor instead of stopping at the neck like the others. The same red stripe pattern appears again in The High School Heroes on the ranger's ties with the red ranger again getting a yellow stripe instead. The Sixth Ranger is a silver ranger, but several parts of the suit that would his own color are black instead. J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai: The initial four Rangers are based on playing cards. The additional fifth member, Big One, uses a suit with almost no resemblance to the other Rangers. The red ranger also has a red helmet with a blue visor instead of a white one with his own color like the other three. Battle Fever J: Since the suits are based on the flags of different countries and this was an early season when traditions were not established yet, all the suits look very different from one another, only sharing things like matching face designs and having a shield design on the chest. The female of the team, Miss America, also has a wig on her helmet and skin-colored legs. Hikari Sentai Maskman had a Sixth Ranger for only one episode, whose suit looked very different than the rest of the Rangers because it was actually based on a What Could Have Been design for the show's Rangers. Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The green Sixth Ranger has a golden torso armor piece the others don't have as well as gold bands on his upper arms, and different gloves and boots (with triangle designs instead of diamonds), and also a red diamond on his helmet. In Power Rangers the White Ranger, the same Sixth Ranger but with new powers, would have a very different design since it came from Dairanger instead of Zyuranger. Gosei Sentai Dairanger: Even in the show he originally came from, the white Sixth Ranger had a very different suit design. His suit switches several of the colors around and replaces the white vest the other ranger wear with a black and gold chest armor piece with a different insignia that is larger and in middle of the chest instead of on the left side and he also has more gold on his helmet than the others. Chouriki Sentai Ohranger and Power Rangers Zeo continues the pattern of having a Sixth Ranger with extra gold armor. Denji Sentai Megaranger and Power Rangers in Space is a rare case of a Sixth Ranger averting the usual degree of customization, as his suit only makes minor changes to the standard suit colors. Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue: The Sixth Ranger had a different pattern on the torso than the other Rangers and had a slightly different helmet design. Mirai Sentai Timeranger and Power Rangers Time Force: The Sixth Ranger looks very similar to the Red Ranger, but with a couple extra jagged lines on the geometric patterns and several sections that are white on the other Rangers are instead black. Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger and Power Rangers Wild Force: The Sixth ranger has a two-colored suit, mainly silver but with dark blue as a secondary color. He also has a different insignia on the belt buckle. Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger and Power Rangers Ninja Storm has two teams of Rangers that end up joining together. The second team of Rangers has slightly more armor and has more gold. The Sixth Ranger has a suit very similar to the initial Ranger team but with gold body armor, a different belt buckle than everyone else, and unlike all the other Rangers his chest symbol is not enclosed in a circle. His helmet also has a second visor on the back which flips around to the front when he removes the extra armor. Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger and Power Rangers: Dino Thunder: The Black Ranger has slightly more armor, more gold on his suit, and a more detailed diamond pattern. The evil White Ranger has a red visor instead of a black one, body armor, no Chest Insignia, a different belt buckle, different boots, and his suit replaces the diamond pattern the other rangers have with a spikier triangle pattern that covers more of the suit and goes over the inner sides of his arms instead of the outer sides. Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger and Power Rangers S.P.D.: Had two regularly appearing Sixth Rangers and three or two extras and they are all very different from each other and the rest of the Rangers. The male white Ranger is similar to the other Rangers but the number on his suit is in Roman numerals (VI) and his suit turns the silver parts gold and some of the black parts blue. The black/grey Ranger is more armored and has red highlights and his helmet has dog ears. The female white/orange Ranger looks almost nothing like the other rangers aside from still having the same badges on the chest and helmet. Her suit has body armor, no number, and a helmet shape that vaguely suggests wings or cat ears. Also, unlike most of the Rangers her suit is nearly symmetrical. The silver Ranger also has a nearly symmetrical suit, no obvious chest number, a differently shaped helmet with a fancier version of the helmet badge, and has gold where the main Rangers have silver. The gold ranger, is actually very similar to the main rangers but with an X for the chest number and a slightly different helmet. GoGo Sentai Boukenger and Power Rangers Operation Overdrive: The Silver Ranger's suit has bigger shoulder armor and orange highlights. The parts of the suit that are silver for everyone else are metallic blue, and the white parts of the suit are black. His helmet also has a crest and red highlights. Juken Sentai Gekiranger and Power Rangers Jungle Fury: The three core rangers are patterned like the stripes or spots of different big cats. The wolf-themed violet ranger has armor on his arms and legs, a different suit style, and a more animalistic helmet style with actual ears instead of just the vague suggestion of them. The rhino-themed white ranger also has a different suit style with orange highlights, a different Chest Insignia located on one side instead of the middle, and is the only ranger who wears a belt. Engine Sentai Go-onger and Power Rangers RPM: The Black and Green Rangers have gold parts where Red, Blue, and Yellow have black; indicating them as a slightly different sub-team (even though the five are usually treated as a single group). The Gold and Silver Rangers have differently designed helmets with crests, red highlights, and protrusions on the forearms. The arms, legs, and torsos of their suits are also mostly black. The chests have their own insignia instead of a stylized number like the other rangers, and the "seat belts" are X-shaped instead of V-shaped. Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and Power Rangers Samurai: The gold ranger has a silver belt instead of a gold one, and most of the normally black parts of the suit are blue. The upper arms of the suit are also blue. Tensou Sentai Goseiger: The Sixth Ranger Gosei Knight (technically seventh if counting the dead green ranger) looks almost nothing like the other rangers, because he isn't a humanoid in his normal form, but actually a sapient mech who shrinks down to human size when he becomes a ranger. Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: The Silver Ranger has a very different helmet style with a gold visor but the rest of the suit is the same as the other rangers aside from a different collar and some of the normally silver parts being gold. Tokumei Sentai Go Busters and Power Rangers Beast Morphers: The gold and silver rangers have asymmetrical chest patterns that are also on opposite sides for each of them. They also both have armor that the other Rangers don't have, but Gold has leg and shoulder armor while Silver has armored arms and bigger shoulder armor. The parts of the chests that are silver on the other Rangers are black. A few parts of the Gold Ranger's suit that are black on the core Rangers are silver. And several parts of the Silver Ranger's suit that are silver on the Gold Ranger are metallic blue instead and he also has a metallic blue visor instead of a visor matching his main color. One of the movies showed an alternate reality with a slightly different version of the Go-Busters who all had black visors with white outlines instead of shiny metallic ones, except for the silver ranger, whose appearance is unchanged because he is the only member who retains memories of the original timeline. The same alternate team had a temporary black member whose suit included a Scarf of Asskicking. Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger and Power Rangers Dino Charge actually had surprisingly little variety for a series with six primary suit colors and five extras. The gold suit, which was the primary Sixth Ranger of the season, had blue highlights instead of yellow ones and highlights in more places and his personal insignia on a blue triangle instead of a yellow triangle, and the rest of the yellow triangles on the suits were removed, and one of the silver stripes was replaced with a silver lightning bolt shape. He also had two shoulder pads instead of only one and his had bigger spikes. And his Super Mode gives him gold spikes on his arm instead of silver ones. The grey and cyan suits both replaced the yellow parts of the suit with a dull gold or brass color. The violet suit was completely standard. The silver suit and navy suit turned all of the normally silver parts of the suits gold. The navy suit also replaced most of the yellow parts of the suit with silver except for the emblem and had a fin on the shoulder pad instead of spikes. When the navy suit was being used by a villain, it had dark red arms and red highlights on the helmet, and also added two more gold fins to the right arm in the same places where the six main suits got spikes in their Super Mode. Ressha Sentai ToQger: The Sixth Ranger has black gloves and boots instead of white ones and a slightly different helmet style. His chest number is in the middle of the chest instead of to one side. The chest number is also surrounded by a yellow and black circle instead of a white and black one and doesn't have more lines coming off of it. He also wears yellow and black suspenders and a yellow and black belt instead of a silver belt. Interestingly, when Right briefly uses the orange suit in the last episode the gloves and boots are white instead (This might be because the orange suit's regular user is a reformed shadow). The epilogue movie adds a seventh ranger who uses the same helmet as the sixth but otherwise looks the same as the core rangers except for also having his chest number in the center with six lines coming off of it instead of four. The red ranger of the team also has a noticeably different helmet than the rest of the rangers because all the other rangers are based on modern trains while red is based on a steam engine. This trope is played for laughs in one of the movies where each of the core five rangers gets an animal-themed upgrade. Three of them get new weapons attached to their gloves, and one gets wings attached to his arms, but the pink ranger gets her suit almost entirely replaced with a panda costume, because she has the strongest imagination. Shuriken Sentai Ninninger: The gold ranger's helmet looks like he is wearing a cowboy hat, he wears a poncho instead of a sash, and he wears a different belt. The arms of his suit are also blue. The series also has multiple red rangers with the only thing distinguishing them being that the extra red rangers wear non-standard sashes. Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger: The primary Sixth Ranger of the season is based on three animals instead of one and so has his suit split into three colors. Gold on the right side, silver on the left, and black in the middle, divided in a way that makes it look like he is wearing a gold and silver vest over a black suit. He also flips the black and white on the suit's gloves and boots. He also wears a white belt instead of a silver one and has pointy shoulders. The orange ranger is just a recolored version of the red ranger with the visor and chest design turned blue and the black parts of the boots and gloves turned gold. The original red ranger, whose abilities were later passed to the current one as an alternate form, has long coattails with the chest design stretching all the way down one of the tails, and also has pointy shoulders and a yellow collar. This gets ramped up in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger, where out of team of around a dozen heroes, nearly everyone gets extra personalization on their suits that would normally be reserved for a Sixth. The rangers also have unpowered uniforms they wear when not fighting, but a few members don't wear it or do something unusual with it. Red, Yellow, and Green wear just the basic suits. However, Yellow's visor stretches in front of him, ending in a sharp point. Black and Gold are robotic and sport an armored look. Both of them also don't properly wear the team's unpowered uniform. Black is too large for the uniform and so just wears in on one shoulder as a cape while gold doesn't wear the uniform at all and instead repainted his body to match the uniform's colors. Pink and Orange have extra extremities attached (wings for Pink, a scorpion tail for Orange, although the tail is actually part of his body so he has that in his unpowered form too). Silver has a snake-scale pattern on his suit. Blue's is fur-lined with claws on the gloves and boots. Ryu Commander has gold trim, a Badass Longcoat, armored shoulders, and a symmetrical Chest Insignia, unlike the asymmetrical ones the other rangers have, to reflect that he fills the traditional Sixth Ranger role. Ryu Violet, which is an imperfect transformation, lacks the longcoat but has several other differences in style since it recycled some pieces of the violet suit from ToQger, which were removed when it was perfected. He also does not wear an unpowered uniform like the other rangers and instead wears a fancy ceremonial outfit reserved only for the rebellion's leader. The second Sixth Ranger, Skyblue has mittens and a Scarf of Asskicking that doubles as a secondary weapon but otherwise has a standard suit. The final Sixth Ranger, Houou Soldier, uses a standard suit design but with a slightly different star symbol, and with some of the colors switched around so more of the suit is black, and his helmet has extra accessories to make it looks more like a space helmet. He also does not wear the unpowered uniform because he was leading the fight against Jark Matter long before the rebellion in the current period. Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger: The seventh ranger has two different forms he can switch between depending on which of the two teams he is aligned with. Both forms have an x-shaped visor and change around some of the colors to gold and silver and change a few other minor details. His Lupin X form has an armored torso and does not have a cape, while his Patren X form wears a Badass Longcoat. Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger: The gold ranger recolors the gold parts of the suit to silver and turns the boots and most of the silver parts to blue. Unlike the other rangers he wears a blue helmet with a gold faceplate instead of a helmet in their own color with a silver faceplate. The purple and brown rangers are fully armored and have a different helmet style, with only the lightning design on the body to show they are part of the same team. Mashin Sentai Kiramager: The blue and pink rangers have a solid line in the middle of the stripe on their chests while the rest of the rangers have a broken line. The silver ranger has a spiky helmet with goggles on the forehead and changes the arms and most of the normally silver parts of the suit to orange, recolors a few other parts to light blue, and has a silver stripe on the chest instead of a black one. In one episode the rangers mistakenly think that they are going to get a seventh member and imagine a gold ranger who wears a recolored version of the silver suit with the googles lowered over the eyes, a chest piece similar to what the other rangers have in their Super Mode, and with a scarf. Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger takes this to such an extreme that it becomes an aversion, in that the suits can no longer be said to be "uniform" in the first place. The Zenkaigers each have similar belt buckles and crests on their foreheads, but that's all. Four of the Zenkaigers look like miniature versions of the mechs from previous seasons, while the leader, Zenkaizer, looks similar to a multicolored Akaranger with some features of the Varidorin. The Sixth Ranger Twokaizer looks like a gold Gokaiger based on the Gokaioh. The evil ranger Ranger Staceasar who joins the team near the end of the show looks like a purple knockoff of Zenkaizer but with a helmet and scarf which replaces the cape similar to Battle Japan. Avataro Sentai Donbrothers goes the same route as Kyuranger, giving each Ranger their own customization. The Red Ranger has a gear-shaped crest sticking out of the back of the helmet like a topknot and a large pink peach symbol on his helmet unlike the rest of the Rangers, who have a much smaller gold one. The Yellow Ranger has shoulder spikes. The Blue Ranger who is based on a Japanese macaque is bulkier than the other rangers and has a vest that exposes his abs, fur covered arms, and a red patch on his butt. The Pink Ranger has wings and super-long legs that end in boots resembling talons. The Black Ranger is smaller than the rest of the Rangers, has cartoony body proportions, and has a tail. When the rangers change into their Super Mode they become even less uniform, with pink and black no longer even being humanoid in shape. The Sixth Ranger of the team has an almost entirely different suit style and doesn't even wear the same style of belt as the other rangers and doesn't even wear the team's peach logo anywhere. The only similarities are having a similar visor and mouth plate style. The violet ranger who doesn't join the team until the last episode has a red visor and a black headband and replaces the peach symbol with a shark. He also has a slightly different chest piece that has a fishnet pattern around the neck. Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger: The black ranger has a somewhat different helmet style than the others. The other rangers have a black visor and mouth plate that forms the shape of the insect they are themed after, but the black ranger has a silver and orange bee design with the visor forming some of the black space around it.

The rangers also have unpowered uniforms they wear when not fighting, but a few members don't wear it or do something unusual with it. Red, Yellow, and Green wear just the basic suits. However, Yellow's visor stretches in front of him, ending in a sharp point. Black and Gold are robotic and sport an armored look. Both of them also don't properly wear the team's unpowered uniform. Black is too large for the uniform and so just wears in on one shoulder as a cape while gold doesn't wear the uniform at all and instead repainted his body to match the uniform's colors. Pink and Orange have extra extremities attached (wings for Pink, a scorpion tail for Orange, although the tail is actually part of his body so he has that in his unpowered form too). Silver has a snake-scale pattern on his suit. Blue's is fur-lined with claws on the gloves and boots. Ryu Commander has gold trim, a Badass Longcoat, armored shoulders, and a symmetrical Chest Insignia, unlike the asymmetrical ones the other rangers have, to reflect that he fills the traditional Sixth Ranger role. Ryu Violet, which is an imperfect transformation, lacks the longcoat but has several other differences in style since it recycled some pieces of the violet suit from ToQger, which were removed when it was perfected. He also does not wear an unpowered uniform like the other rangers and instead wears a fancy ceremonial outfit reserved only for the rebellion's leader. The second Sixth Ranger, Skyblue has mittens and a Scarf of Asskicking that doubles as a secondary weapon but otherwise has a standard suit. The final Sixth Ranger, Houou Soldier, uses a standard suit design but with a slightly different star symbol, and with some of the colors switched around so more of the suit is black, and his helmet has extra accessories to make it looks more like a space helmet. He also does not wear the unpowered uniform because he was leading the fight against Jark Matter long before the rebellion in the current period.

Their children had gender-based uniforms. When he first joined the Future Foundation, Spidey started by wearing a Fantastic Four uniform and adding a black version of his mask to the ensemble (since he still has a secret identity) before quickly changing to the white and black design. Chibi-Moon bounces back and forth, her first two uniforms are more like Moon's but her final one is the same as everyone but Moon. It should be noted that the anime doesn't get as uniform as the manga as the 3rd version doesn't appear aside from Moon's version of it. The Starlights also have different accessories on their uniform and different strap colors. Kakyuu's version (which only appears in the manga) has a unique skirt and shoulder pads and her crown remains.
