Streaking is defined by Oxford Dictionaries as an "informal run [done] naked in a public place so as to shock or amuse others." This trope has made an appearance in many forms of media since its boom in popularity in the early 1970s and has continued to be an ongoing, though uncommon, phenomenon in modern society. It is mostly associated with young adults, sports events and college campuses. The motivation can be a prank, a dare, drunken revelry or a protest (in which case the streaker may write a slogan on their body). Streaking can be separated into two types: Type 1 Streaking involves complete nudity, with the possible exception of footwear. Very liable to bring public nudity charges if performed in real life. In some jurisdictions, it can get you registered as a sex offender if children are present. Type 2 Streaking involves minimal coverage, for males this usually consists of nothing more than sparse undergarments while females may be allowed to have coverage for their breasts. An ad for CC's Chips has Homer streaking through the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant in order to get the aforementioned potato chips from Bart.
