An alternative to As You Know, this trope is when several characters have already explained something during a discussion, but one character asks the others to repeat the entire explanation. The reason is so that the audience can receive the exposition.
Often, the first discussion is not included in the narrative, and the audience only receives the information through this second conversation. The trope is often used this way for narrative brevity. The second explanation would be much shorter than the original discussion, since the characters have already gone over it before. It can also let people talk about The Plan much closer to the actual event, sometimes while it's already in motion.
Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })Sometimes it's justified as an inverted Let Me Get This Straight..., in which the requester is so dubious of the explanation that he needs to hear it multiple times to believe it. Other times it's played for comedy by portraying the requester as stupid, and the people repeating the explanation will be frustrated.
Compare Shall I Repeat That?, which also serves as an inversion, but mostly exclusive to video games.

The Keys Stand Alone: The Soft World: When George starts chapter 14 by asking John “Remind me why we're doing this again?” as they walk down a dusty road. John answers, “'Cause it's better than sittin' round playin' with ourselves while the others suck at the Guardians' tits.” Which leads into a flashback as to really why they're walking down the dusty road.
