Dropkick on My Devil (Jashin-chan Doroppukikku) is a comedy manga written and illustrated by Yukiwo, which began serialization in Comic Meteor in April 2012.The manga follows a college student named Yurine who ends up summoning a lamia devil named Jashin-chan while dabbling in dark arts. Jashin-chan takes offense that a lowly human would dare summon her and tries to kill her. Keyword: "Tries", as Yurine turns out to be extremely formidable and quite proficient in weaponry. And since she summoned Jashin-chan , Jashin-chan can't go back home until Yurine either sends her back (which she doesn't know how to do) or is killed. So begins a rather odd relationship of sorts with Jashin-chan trying every opportunity to off Yurine while some other devils, angels, and even vampires soon get into the mix as well.First announced in December 2017, an anime adaptation by Nomad ran from July to September 2018 and was subbed for Amazon Video. A second season, under the title Dropkick on my Devil Dash, aired from April to June 2020. A third season, Dropkick on my Devil X, aired from July to September 2022. Both were subbed for Crunchyroll instead, though they would later gain the rights to the first season in June 2023. A standalone Original Video Animation, subtitled Apocalypse Arc, is set for release in December 2023.A fourth season is in development, which was confirmed shortly after the conclusion of the 3rd season. Adaptation-Induced Plot Hole: Since the Anime starts around Chapter 58 of the manga, a number of character introductions and other plotpoints are skipped, but sometimes referred to anyway. This also happens later in the series as well, though in an unusual case, the show actually Lampshades this issue frequently and tells readers which volume of the manga to read to get caught up. To wit: The apartment still has the shrine to Jashin-chan's pet fawn, Azusa II, who she accidentally kills early on and feels immense guilt over, but Azusa's death isn't shown until well after it happens in the manga, with characters pointing out that it was skipped over by the anime and forcing a quick recap of the incident. Despite having Persephone II receiving Adaptational Early Appearance, and being inserted into the background of a number of stories she wasn't originally in, showing her feverish attempt to find Jashin-chan, the anime doesn't explain why she's there (which is to teach Jashin-Chan a stronger dropkick that ends up not working out). When Persephone I finally appears, this issue is pointed out and Persephone II tells readers to tells the audience to consult volume 8. Lierre recieves Adaptational Early Appearance without an introduction in the season 2 Chitose special, likely due to her voice actress being from the Chitose, but the chapter with her proper introduction is adapted later. This is pointed out in a season 3 Cold Open, where Jashin-chan sees the special airing on television and freaks out that there's apparently an alternate timeline where they met Lierre earlier, but everyone else ignore this and acts as if nothing is wrong. | |

Didn't Think This Through: A lot of Jashin-chan 's attacks on Yurine failing is due to the fact she doesn't take into account certain things. For example she attempted to invite Medusa over so she could turn Yurine to stone. However before, she had asked Yurine if it was alright to invite a friend over. Yurine allowed it and then asked who said friend was. As you can imagine when Yurine heard the name "Medusa", it didn't take much to thwart Jashin-chan 's plan. Another, Jashin-chan had saw a news report about the mountains and thought up a plan to get Yurine to go hiking in which she would try to kill her by pushing her off a cliff or having bears maul her to death. Just one hitch in her plan, Yurine turned down the offer to go. One of the more simple ones has Jashin-chan have Medusa bring over a crowbar so she can sneak up on Yurine and bash her head in with it. Only when she went to execute it, she yelled at the top of her lungs as she was going in for the strike. Yurine countered her easily as a result. Season 2 Episode 7 has Jashin-chan use glue for Yurine to step on. She does, but she takes off her shoes. Jashin-chan however anticipated this and she left another puddle of glue, but Yurine takes off her socks, which leaves Jashin bewildered. This all ends with Jashin-chan getting cut in half by Yurine, as punishment for ruining her sock and shoes. | |

In Episode 1, Jashin-chan steals her leek and gives her a 100 yen coin in return, for her to celebrate since she only paid 90. In Episode 2, after Jashin-chan is sliced in half, Miku is seen poking her disembodied tail with the leek. In Episode 3, Miku, who is walking around town with her leek, is caught by Mei and winds up handcuffed to Pekola. After being carted around by the cast, her "manager", a Crypton Future Media staff member, shows up to take her home. In Episode 4, Miku appears as one of Jashin-chan's classmates during a flashback to demon school. In Episode 5, the hooded courier witch reveals herself to be Miku, but Jashin-chan is confused by this, and Miku activates the "magic" in the broom and leaves for her next client. Jashin-chan still accepts the item anyway. In Episode 6, Miku stumbles upon a pudding stall while playing a mukkuri along the way. In Episode 7, Miku performs and sings at a traditional festival in Obihiro. In Episode 8, Miku plays with a water balloon with the jiangshi sisters and local children at the base of Ayugaeri Falls. In Episode 9, Miku and Jashin-chan go out skiing together. Before that, Miku is seen popping grapes in a pool with her feet to make wine. In Episode 10, Miku appears as the truck driver running over a reckless Jashin-chan in a hit-and-run crash, after the latter got "Death" written in her omikuji and repeatedly says that "she will not die".
