Starting out as a Thrash Metal band named Hazard in 2001, they released two demos before changing their name to Tribulation in 2004, utilizing an old school Death Metal sound. In 2009, they released their first full-length album, The Horror. Come 2013, Tribulation released their second album, The Formulas of Death, once again, making a change to their sound, incorporating elements of Progressive Rock. In 2015, they released their third album, The Children of the Night, where they dropped the Death Metal tone almost completely in favor of a more Gothic Metal sound with tinges of Black Metal, and continued to polish up on this sound in their 2018 album, Down Below. In early 2021, around the release of their fifth album, Where the Gloom Becomes Sound, Jonathan Hultén, the lead guitarist and primary mastermind behind the band next to rhythm guitarist Adam Zaars, quit the band and was replaced by Joseph Tholl of Tyrann, formerly of Enforcer.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_2'); })Lyrically, they tend to cover occult and esoteric topics, primarily of a Hindu and Gnostic persuasion, with some vampiric undertones and references to Classical Mythology.Discography: The Horror The Formulas of Death The Children of the Night Down Below Alive & Dead at Södra Teatern Where the Gloom Becomes Sound | |
