Fight for the core is an ongoing forum role-playing game created by flyingdingo0827 on the TV tropes sub forum.Can be found here.Fight for the core stars a group of adventurers that are all looking for the core, a magical orb that is said to fulfill the wishes of anyone who's able to find it. Along the way though, the adventurers must face the guardians, twelve elemental creatures of legend who's goal is to prevent anyone from uncovering the ultimate treasure. Now, together, the adventurers must use their powers and work together to defeat the guardians and gain entry to the ultimate treasure...or die trying.Now has a discussion page. Wham Episode - Each of the acts so far has this at the end. The end of act 1 has Lynn's death and subsequent departure, making it the first death of the session. The end of Act 2 has Jason being kidnapped and dragged into the third guardian's lair. The end of Act 3 has Drew experiencing a nervous breakdown upon seeing the MOD after being mindraped by the third guardian, which may mean that Drew could be going insane. The end of Act 4 has the arrival of Sky who's discovered to be a part of another group of people trying to look for the core which may mean that the adventurers aren't alone in the session. The end of Act 5 had Jason pulling a heroic sacrifice, making him the first character to truly die during the session at that point. To really drive the point home though, Jason gives Drew his longcoat and mask which may have helped the former recover from his Heroic BSOD. The end of Act 6 not only has the death of the creature but the absence of the mysterious man in his own hub. Later on, it's discovered that he's gone because the black sun is apparently on its way to the temple. Act 10 features... The revelation that the Isla the group fought was actually Isla corrupted by the virus, meaning that her own brother killed her by accident. The MOD has succeeded in killing the last of the guardians. Grey dying from his wounds. The creature being alive and well again. The destruction of the Gray Polymorph and the hub. | |

Hope Spot: Drew's able to successfully revive Lynn...but then she quits the session shortly afterwards. The creature's able to save Drew before he's devoured by the black mist and Jason's able to bring Drew back from his comatose state using birdsong, however... It appears as if Drew is (or already has) gone mad from the experience. Only time will tell. Sky finally enters the portal to assist the rest of her allies...but then it turns out they're already dead... Drew's able to heal Jason's injuries after he's crushed and is seconds away from completing the task...and then his body fades away. | |
