Banks returned as host for Cycle 24, the last Cycle as of 2021. First, she was given the assignment to portray "Gluttony" in a seven deadly sins-themed photoshoot and then assigned to portray an elephant in an animal-themed photoshoot. The panel loved to pick on cycle 10 contestant Katarzyna. Even though her name is pronounced "Kat-uh-GIN-nuh" (and was explained as such more than once), they repeatedly pronounced it as "Guitar-jenuh". Judge Paulina Porizkova in particular was especially catty towards her. Some view the treatment of Cycle 9 contestant Heather Kuzmich as this. Tyra critiqued her anti-smoking photo and her lack of chemistry with Saleisha and also calling out Heather's lack of presence in the panel, despite already knowing Heather had Asperger's (more commonly known as Autism Spectrum Disorder). She also occasionally mispronounced Asperger's and spouted off "facts" about Heather's neurodivergence that were more based in stereotypes (such as "certain genius qualities" popping out or not being able to make eye contact), although the show failed to ever address other common traits associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder such as over-stimulating photo shoots and overly figurative or sarcastic styles of speaking. Heather's treatment in the house was also portrayed as this, although certain girls including Heather herself have disputed that it was truly that bad (Jenah Doucette, Lisa Jackson, Chantal Jones and Bianca have all stated that Heather and Bianca were actually best buds in the house, and their bickering was actually a two-sided, Vitriolic Best Buds situation, but it tended to be portrayed as Bianca being a bully). Broken Aesop: Tyra and the other judges frequently talk about how the show is breaking new ground and how they're confronting the many issues of the modeling world in hopes of changing it for the better. However, whenever a contestant is uncomfortable with one of the show's challenges or is given insensitive feedback, they're often more or less told to suck it up because that's just how things work in the fashion industry. Tyra is either out to change the fashion industry and clear the runway for short girls, plus-size girls and dark-skinned girls, or powerless to change it, depending on when you ask her.
