The show focuses on three child or pre-teen contestants competing each other. The First round is an obstacle course called The Megalator in which the three contestants must completed the course in the fastest time they can, the two contestant with the least time will move on to the next round while the contestant with the most time is eliminated. During this round, the hosts checks on Master Mayhem to see what's he's up to and sees which monster he's going to send to Earth. The second round, The Mega Duel, sends the two contestant to a planet, chosen by Master Mayhem himself. If one of them has the most points will be through to the next round. In the third round, The Monster Mashdown, Master Mayhem then sends his monster of the episode to a fictional city, Mega City. The contestant warps to a secret bunker where he/she will choose one of the four armors (the Mega tank suit, the Mega Ice Suit, the Mega Money Suit and the Mega Hammer Suit), once gear up, they pressed a button on their wrist and grows 600 ft. tall. He/she must find three powers pods inside buildings (two while using the Mega Tank suit) in order to activate the Mega Laser to zap the monster. Another pod is also hidden in the buildings; if found and used, it will activate Mayhem Time, in which a rival monster will fight the opponent for 20 seconds. Every power pod scores some money for the contestant but if he/she throws a boom building the money they earn will reset to zero until another power pod if found. If all the power pods are found, The Mega Laser is activated and the monster is defeated, if the contestant runs out of time, they have to sacrifice themselves in the Chamber of Doom in order to save the Earth. Win or not, depending how much points he/she got, he/she can still go home with a few cash.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_2'); })Throughout the show, a Sub-Plot resolves around Master Mayhem and his monsters in a space condo on a unknown planet, depending on what title of the episode is called. Said subplot involves the day-to-day sitcom shenanigans Master Mayhem and his monsters get up to.
