Galaxy Angel, the comedy space anime, was originally based off a series of Space Opera Dating Sim games published by Broccoli that dealt with Commander Tact Mayers and his adventures with the Angel-tai.note translated in the manga as "Angel Troupe," by the Fan Translation of the games as "Angel Wing" (which appears in text in-game but was until then widely presumed to be another name for Emblem Frames), and translated in the anime as "Angel Brigade" The (arguably more well-known) anime is a clear Alternate Universe, being a parody of Adaptation Decay in general by throwing out practically everything the game had to offer on purpose. This was mostly caused by the combination of the timing of the anime deal and delays in the game's production forcing the anime to air well in advance of the game's release. See the anime page for more information on the show.In the gameverse, brand new commander Tact Mayers, barely aware of his own job and responsibilities, is thrust into the position of commander of the Elsior and its five ace pilots, the Angel-tai. They're set to protect Shiva, prince of the Transbaal Empire, after the disgraced former heir, Eonia, staged a coup d'etat. Shiva is more than he seems, too (but of course, you only realize this if you get all the special scenes), and all the while, Tact is falling for one of the Angels (If taking the Manga Canon Path, Milfeulle, although the games do not have a set canonical route). Galaxy Angel, Galaxy Angel: Moonlit Lovers and Galaxy Angel: Eternal Lovers cover this point in time, as well as the non-canonical Galaxy Angel EX.It has a sequel trilogy named Galaxy Angel II.There is also a manga series. Galaxy Angel was based on the first game and Galaxy Angel Beta was based on Galaxy Angel: Moonlit Lovers. Additionally two Light Novels by Ryo Mizuno were published based on the games in 2002 and 2003.Also see the Galaxy Angel anime series; though all of the characters have either been removed or exaggerated and the plot is completely gone, a few tropes are still shared.

Abusive Precursors: The Black Moon is either an evil factory of destruction or a corrupted factory of destruction; the White Moon is therefore either its counterpart or its opposite. This makes whoever built it either the Abusive Precursors trope or the Neglectful Precursors trope. This is later subverted in the second game by Noah when you learn that the proper purpose of the twin moons combined is as a deterrent against the Val-Fask.

Instant-Win Condition: Both ways in combat — if the ship Tact is on is ever destroyed, the mission automatically ends in failure. This takes precedence over victory conditions, so if you had just defeated that target flagship just seconds before, you still lose. On the flip side, if the Elsior is surrounded by enemy ships and all of the target opponents are defeated, the remaining enemies will just stop.

Heroic BSoD: Each girl has such a major one in Eternal Lovers that it messes up their minds, causing Milfeulle to get amnesia, Ranpha to reflexively hit Tact if he touches her, Mint's telepathy to reverse itself and broadcast Mint's thoughts instead, Forte having panic attacks when trying to pick up a gun (the only case to not result directly from Tact shooting her down, but more from the hijacking that necessitated it in the first place), Vanilla's nanomachine pet mutating into a horrible wolf monster, and Chitose transferring her romantic feelings for Tact to Lester instead.)

Tempting Fate: A rare positive example Played for Laughs happens in Milfie's route during the ball chapter. A random guest shows up and takes Milfie away to dance, and she reluctantly complies. Once they're out of earshot, Tact angrily muses that he wishes someone would pour champagne on the guy. Cue Milfie's luck causing an entire tower of champagne glasses collapsing on the guy.

Relationship Upgrade: Tact and his chosen Angel go through two phases of solidifying the relationship. First is whoever he dances with during the ball on Fargo and the second is before the final battle against Eonia where Tact has the possibility of saying the wrong line and ruining the relationship. Tact and Chitose technically have two occasions where they upgrade their relationship and they happen be Moonlit Lovers and Eternal Lovers respctively as they only become a couple by the end of the third game.

Multiple Endings: The first Galaxy Angel game's epilogues all differ slightly in where the characters end up going before reuniting in Moonlit Lovers. Milfie's ending has her believing that she used up all her luck to save the Elsior and Tact and has her retire from the military. Tact does the same to pursue her, leaving Lester to lead the Elsior and the remaining Angel Wing. Ranpha's ending, as well as Mint's and Vanilla's, has each of them joining Tact and Lester into continuing to survey the outskirts of the empire for Lost Technology. Forte's ending has her replace Lester as Tact's Second in Command. Tact's "Bad Ending" where he fails to solidify his relationship with his chosen Angel before the final battle with Eonia has him return to patrolling duties with Lester without the Elsior and the Angel Wing. This is the set-up for Chitose's route.

Milholland Relationship Moment
Galaxy Angel (Video Game) / int_1b74d23d
comment
Milholland Relationship Moment: Done once in the Mint route in Galaxy Angel Eternal Lovers, the third game. Being a snarky telepath, having her powers reversed (essentially a thought broadcast instead of mind-reading) really puts Mint down. But after all is said and done, and the people whom she snarked about came forward with their own take on things, it all sets up for a big Aesop on trusting other people and honesty. Oh, and trusting your own lover.Detailed explanationMint's powers have malfunctioned as the result of a head injury, so instead of Mint being able to read other people's minds, everyone else has access to her mind. And she can't control it, so a bunch of insulting thoughts about the other Angels came tumbling out of her head. Due to a combination of this and other factors, Mint tried to isolate herself from everyone else. Tact's managed to lure her out with a heartwarming speech over loudspeaker, but Mint is still worried that the Angels will all hate her now. Then the other Angels actually show up, and Mint braces herself for the hatred and scorn, setting up the Milholland Relationship Moment...and instead of getting angry at Mint for her earlier negative thoughts, the rest of the Angels share their own negative thoughts about Mint! Forte doesn't like Mint's extra set of ears, since Forte is jealous that Mint is doing something nobody else can pull off. Ranpha is jealous of Mint's small body, but only because if Ranpha was small like Mint, Ranpha could wear cuter clothes. Milfeulle says sometimes Mint can be surprisingly harsh with her jokes and sometimes Milfeulle starts crying. Chitose thinks Mint should try to be less sarcastic. Finally, Vanilla asks Mint to please stop pulling on the space rabbits' ears when she plays with them. And Tact himself chimes in that he'd prefer it if Mint didn't enjoy teasing other people so much. Well, now they've all told Mint how they feel, does Mint hate them now? Mint says of course not...aha, in reality, sharing their real feelings with each other has made them all closer together! Mint should have a little more faith in them.

Wave-Motion Gun: The Chrono Break Cannon fires out a massive laser beam capable of obliterating the largest targets. In the first game, it's used by the Elsior to destroy Eonia's flagship and the Black Moon, and in Moonlit Lovers it's attached to Unit #7 to destroy the O-Gaub at point-blank range. Change the Uncomfortable Subject: In Moonlit Lovers, in Forte's route Chapter 5, she makes a few remarks leaving implications of what she would do with Tact in private, to mixed reactions from the rest of the Angels and Tact's embarrassment. Fortunately, Chitose steps up to save him by asking when they're returning to the White Moon (to which Ranpha lampshades how she's just trying to change the topic).

Aliens Are Bastards: The Val-Fasq race of aliens act as a nearly irredeemable race of conquerors who have terrorized the home universe the first trilogy takes place in. They are long-lived, heartlessly prideful, utilitarian, war-mongering, and also incredibly disloyal to one another if it means achieving higher positions of power. As beings operating on logic, they would most assuredly walk the path that is most logical to them even if it would be the most despicable option. They're also covered in strange purple Tron Lines that reflect the use of their ability to control machinery.

Trope subversions and aversions become more common as the franchise progresses. One example of note is a battle mid-way through the third game where not only is Tact's girlfriend (and therefore strongest Angel in battle) out of commission, but the Elsior is at half health and must escape the battlefield. If you simply attack every ship in sight without carefully choosing which ships to attack and when, you can end up losing the battle very quickly. It doesn't help that some enemies in that level are the previous stage's boss.

Love Hurts: Eternal Lovers has this as a plot point on most routes. Wein intentionally uses Lushati to drive a wedge between Tact and his Angel (by means of causing several Not What It Looks Like incidents), causing the Angel to start fearing that Tact would stop loving her, which later coupled with her Emblem Frame being sabotaged causes her mental damage. In the aftermath, Shatyarn explains that, the more you love someone, the more it hurts to be separated from them.

Vanilla's case is due to her being the youngest of the team at the time, at 13, while Mint's is due to her worry that she stopped growing completely. Forte's is especially weird given she normally wears high heels.

Love Confession: As a dating sim, this is a given. Milfie has it when she and Tact end up trapped by a missile attack that impacts the Elsior's hull, after Milfie has been avoiding Tact out of fear of him getting hurt when her bad luck strikes. Tact assures her that he's willing to take the risks if that means he can be with her, and reinforces it by saying that she's his "Goddess of Fortune". Ranpha has it when, after a misunderstanding makes her think Tact isn't interested in her, she locks up in her room to cry. Tact goes off to find the diary she gave him before, and when he can't write his feelings he proceeds to tell Ranpha all the things he likes about her and declare out loud that he loves her. Mint has it when, after being kidnapped by her father, Tact comes to her house to rescue her personally. Tact declares to Darno that he'll take Mint with him and promises to take care of her, and she gives him a kiss on the cheek as thanks. Forte has it when she volunteers to take the mission to destroy the attack satellite to clear the Elsior's path, despite Tact's concerns for her safety. In this case, she is the one who confesses first that she fell in love with Tact and wants to protect him, doubling as a Declaration of Protection. Vanilla doesn't have her proper love confession until the second game, after spending the first two chapters with Chitose misunderstanding their relationship as being Like Brother and Sister. Chitose is the only one whose confession doesn't come until the final game of the trilogy, where she and Tact are finally able to tell their feelings to each other during the EDEN ball. The scene shows Chitose beet red before she ends up fainting.

To elaborate: Ranpha, Forte and Vanilla will be impressed by your dutifulness if you say "yes" the first time or if you refuse only once. Helping Would Be Killstealing: In Moonlit Lovers, this is Forte's reasoning on not directly helping Chitose's inability for flexible thinking. Left alone, she will cause disaster sooner or later, as evidenced in the aftermath of a particular mission where she froze up, never expecting the freighter she rescued was an enemy in disguise, despite nigh-blatant clues. However, telling her directly would most likely backfire; as Forte herself puts it, Chitose may even grow paranoiac and start suspecting even the regular coffee she drinks, thinking it is poisoned. Forte understands that it's not something you taught at the Academy, but learned through experience.

Space Navy: The Transbaal Empire's fleets have designated ship classes and names for them. The first Galaxy Angel game is focused on combating the Black Fleet which utilized the same designations. Classifications include: Spard Destroyers Barmell Cruisers Zem/Zarf Carriers Gezel Missile Frigates Sillius Fighters, later upgraded to Dark Angels Serac and Stenoe Pursuers Zell Flagships Zerremund Satellites The Val-Fasq Fleet encountered in Moonlit Lovers also come with hull classes but are only teased as a scouting force. A proper invasion fleet of Val-Fasq ships are fought in Eternal Lovers where there are upgraded models as well as other designations. At most, there are similar naming conventions where Val-Fasq ships will have the -Xio suffix for regular vessels and the O- prefix if it is a flagship.

Inconsistent Spelling: The official source likes to change things around just when we've gotten used to the old spellings. Elsior was fine, it was around for a few games, but then all of a sudden, it's called the Elle Ciel instead, which doesn't even match the katakana. Also, many of the food-based names purposely misspell the food, like Milfeulle [millefeuille]. Because the games have never been released in English, there are also a few terms with no consistent romanization at all. Are the aliens from the GA1 expansions the Val-Fasq, the Valfasc, the Varu Fasuku? Somewhere in between? No one is certain, and various spellings are even used on this very page.

Romantic Spoonfeeding: Several instances on different games (and routes): In the first game, Ranpha cooks a lot of food for Tact to feed him as a romantic gesture. Given his reaction to it it seems it didn't turn out too well and he tries to stomach it just to see her happy, though she quickly sees through it. In Moonlit Lovers, Vanilla dresses up as a Meido and tries to feed tact a cake (apparently on Ranpha's advice). Milfie also does it with her homemade lunch during their date, at the beginning of her route, while they're on the Ferris Wheel. In Eternal Lovers, it's Lushati who does it with a cake, just in time for Milfie to show up and see them. In this case, it's because Wein intentionally mind-controlled Lushati to do this in order to drive a wedge between Milfie and Tact.

The Power of Love
Galaxy Angel (Video Game) / int_6a696742
comment
The Power of Love: An important concept since the Emblem Frames are powered by the emotions and state of mind of their pilot. Whoever is Takuto's girlfriend is essentially an unstoppable killing machine, even the medic Vanilla. In the original game, Tact can choose to dump the girl (if it's Milfeulle, Ranpha, or Vanilla, or if it's Mint or Forte, make such a horrendously bad choice that he's the one who gets dumped). This makes her absolutely worthless in the final 2 battles and makes those two battles A LOT harder. On the other hand, since the Chitose path in Moonlit Lovers assumes you did this in the original game, it could be argued this choice makes the Power of Love possible for Chitose. By the end of Eternal Lovers, Tact's bond with the chosen Angel is strong enough for her Space Fighter to create a pocket dimension to absorb the energy given off by a Cosmic-level Weapon of Mass Destruction all by itself.

Serious Business: In the first game, Ranpha and Forte have a "serious" argument over which is better: radish and carrot in the GA 1. Saying that you (Takuto) prefer potatoes instead is, for once, not a good idea. In Moonlit Lovers, an argument over curry turns into an eating competition. It ends with Chitose embarrassing them both by winning the contest, and then pointing out to the stuffed Ranpha and Forte that it's rude to leave food on your plate.

Guide Dang It!: Getting all the Shiva CGs in the first game. The problem is that getting the subroute where those CGs are unlocked from requires you to choose very specific responses and to visit certain areas that don't have portraits on them. You can screw it up as early as chapter 2. The only other CG in the relevant collection requires said subroute to NOT occur. To clarify, here's how to get the subroute: Step one, when you first meet Prince Shiva at the beginning of the game, you need to be honest with him (not fudging the truth) when he asks what's happened to the White Moon and planet Transbaal. Step two, in the Mint-centric chapter, during one of the free time segments you'll find both Forte and Shiva in the vending machines area. (You must buy Shiva a chess set). Both the top and middle choices increase Forte's affection; to set up more meetings with Shiva later, however, you need to pick the middle choice. Step three, every opportunity after that you get a free time segment, choose at least one time block to visit Shiva in the royal room. If you successfully pursue every opportunity, you should begin Shiva's subroute right before Tact has to pick a girl to ask to the dance. (This is the hardest part.)

Furo Scene: Partially subverted, in the first game. The girls happily invite Tact into the furo so he can ogle their beauty...because they aren't naked. They're wearing bathing suits, so there's nothing embarrassing for Tact to see. The final CG of Forte's route in Eternal Lovers shows her bathing together with Tact in a hotspring. Doubles as a Call-Back and Book Ends as the two are leaning back-to-back with each other, similar to another scene they share in the first game.

Removing the Rival: Given the Valfasq aren't exactly known for having loyalty towards each other, they consider this a perfectly valid tactic to move up in the ranks. The Chrono Break Cannon is roughly 1/3 the size of the Elsior, and when later mounted on GA-007, it was pretty much 99% of the entire ship.

Bait-and-Switch: In the second game, Moonlit Lovers, it actually isn't very long before you manage to beat Rezom, the leader of the "remnants" that have been causing problems. This occurs not long after the Angel Wing reunites, so this seems rather early for the final battle. It's not the final battle, as Nefuria reveals herself to be the true villain. In the third game, Eternal Lovers, Noah reports that both Lushati and Wein have stolen GA-007 and the Chrono Break Cannon, which briefly will make the player think that both Lushati and Wein are evil, and our heroes have to prepare themselves to confront both siblings of EDEN. Actually, only Wein is evil; Lushati is being brainwashed and is an innocent pawn.

Stab the Scorpion: A double example happens in Moonlit Lovers. During the second chapter of Forte's route, enemy probes invade the Elsior taking on the appearances of the crew to confuse them. In the enginer room Chitose comes out of hiding and points her gun at Forte, who responds in kind. Tact at first is scared thinking that they'll shoot one another, but they instead shoot the enemy probes that were about to sneak up from behind them.

Did Not Get the Girl: Tact can nail the dance ball, lock himself onto an Angel's route, and solve their specific route problem down the line. All of that can be for naught if he messes up a rather obvious final choice before the final battle with Eonia where he can potentially lose the Angel's trust and not end up with her, and instead be sent back to the Patrol Fleet with Lester like how the game started out.

We Are "Team Cannon Fodder": During the first game, the remnants of the Imperial Navy might as well be annoying distraction against Eonia, due to how ridiculously strong the Angel Brigade is. Gloriously inverted in both Moonlit Lovers and Eternal Lovers. There Are No Therapists: Subverted, sort of. The Elsior has a single counselor in Dr. Kela, though she's rarely seen playing that role specifically. On the other hand, the fact Tact is responsible for the mental health of his team of pilots without any qualifications beyond being a Nice Guy is a bit troubling. Justified — in this case the mental health of the pilots directly influences whether or not the pilots can win battles. That last part is the responsibility of the commander instead of the counselor, so Tact is keeping the pilots' spirits up is in fact required in their particular circumstances. (The fact that Lester knows this is necessary is why Lester doesn't complain about Tact hanging around with a group of beautiful women while Lester works on the bridge.)

My Defense Need Not Protect Me Forever: Pulled spectacularly by Wein. After managing to steal Unit 7, with the Chrono Break Cannon attached to it, he was pursued by Tact and his Angel Brigade (sans one, who was out of commission). They caught up with Wein who has rendezvoused with a sizable defensive force. After the battle is done, Tact corners him, only for Wein to reveal that he can activate the superweapon that he stole, on top of holding Lushati hostage. After he gets Tact and the Angels to back down, then he reveals that he has an even bigger fleet coming, and the whole thing was just a ruse to begin with. To top it all off, the superweapon gambit he pulled was not a bluff and he fires it at Tact, the effect of which makes you start with much less health in the next battle.

Mood Dissonance: The setting of the games span at least two realities each with their own history and culture. There's some genuine attention to world-building going on in the background, especially in the second trilogy where there's more political talk than ever, but it's kind of tough to look past how most things are just named Space-something. Consider that the opening seconds of the first game involves an empire's capital being bombarded from orbit and both its palace, emperor, and upper level figures are annihilated in a flash of light within seconds of the game's start, even before the opening exposition lines.

Good Colors, Evil Colors: The Transbaal Military uniform is composed of White and Black in equal amounts as well as a bit of Gold. The Angels, in particular, got one extra color each: Pink for Milfeulle, Cheery Red for Ranpha, Blue for Mint, Natural Green for Vanilla, Purple for Forte (this one is a surbversion since Forte is certainly not evil but rather more mature) and Navy Blue for Chitose. Takuto, as the commander, also gets some Blue and Cheery Red. Finally, their battleships are mostly White with some Blue, Gold and Natural Greens. The White Moon is mostly White with some Gold and the Angel Frames reflect their pilot's colors. As for the bad guys, there's Eonia and Sherry whom dress in Black and Purple. The Hell Hounds get Black, Bloody Red, Unnatural Green, Purple, Silver and Dark Blue. All of their ships are Black with Bloody Red or Purple. And finally, there's the Black Moon which is mostly Black with some Bloody Red. And really finally, there are the Val-Fasq, who use varying shades of Unearthly Purple & Violet and explode green. Even their hair and skin is varying purple/violet shades, usually very pale in their skin.

Level-Up at Intimacy 5: The Angels get generally more powerful the more they like Tact (even when not on their "route"), and your chosen Angel will be bonkers powerful once you commit to them. This is in-universe, too — by the time Eternal Lovers rolls around, the Angels will be commenting on this phenomenon and the chosen heroine will be regarded as the squad ace & combat lynchpin. This fact is exploited to the max during Eternal Lovers by Wein.

In the second game, Rezom becomes an unwilling example when Nefuria takes control of his ship and sends him in a collision course to destroy the Elsior. It fails, and the Elsior's crew also feel pity for him. The climax of the final game has Gern revealing that the Chrono Quake Bomb has been linked to his brain and will activate if he dies, in order to force the Transbaal fleet to a surrender-or-die situation. Of course, he didn't count on Tact and his Angel redirecting the bomb's energy into Another Space.

Played straight in the first game. The opening movie shows Eonia's army bombarding the surface of Planet Transbaal. And later we have the Black Moon blasting Satellite City Fargo and Planet Rhome. Both scenes depict the destruction from orbit in a very detailed way, to the point even the good guys comment they cannot estimate the numbers. To her credit, though, Milfie is pretty freaked out by all the death occurring around her in the opening movie, and a small subcurrent of her plotline involves dealing with the staggering amount of suffering she's seen. (Ultimately, though, the game's a fair bit too light-hearted to really pursue the idea in detail.) After Rhome is devastated, all of the pilots will have some "cockpit chat" about what happened and how they're trying to cope mentally in various ways.

A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Read: Mint suffers from this, in multiple ways. Her ability to read minds caused her problems when growing up since she could see people's true intentions, and her father's mind-reading abilities caused problems when her father would read what Mint wanted but not why she wanted it. In Moonlit Lovers, she relies on her mind-reading so much that when it starts to fail, it puts a serious strain in her relationship with Tact. Finally, in Eternal Lovers, after Mint suffers a head injury because Tact had to shoot down her malfunctioning Trick Master, her telepathic powers malfunction and broadcast her thoughts to everyone else.

Of note from the second game onward is that designated "target" ships are often very, very strong (Rezom's flagship for example, he might be an Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain, but his ship packs a hefty punch). You are usually limited to two ships in early game and as such, there were quite a bit of strategizing involved insofar you don't want to accidentally send your Angels into an early retirement by rushing headlong into battle. Another quirk is "enemy reinforcements"; Eternal Lovers in particular is rather fond of dropping enemy reinforcements right beside the Elsior's spawn point.

The Imperial Navy reinforces the Final Weapon suicide run in the final mission of Moonlit Lovers. The last time, and in the most epic fashion, is the White Moon's call for reinforcements that redirected the 8th Fleet during the desperate retreat from Unit 7 being piloted by Wein after he stole it and the subsequent Val-Fasc ambush.

Darkest Hour: While the cast come out of each conflict relatively safely, they have their own vulnerable moments where all hope seems lost. The earliest example from Galaxy Angel being right after Rhome, the current base of the loyalist fleets, is utterly decimated by the Black Moon's main cannon. The Angel Wing do their best to try and escort civilian ships away from the fighting but the Black Moon's automated facilities keep providing Eonia's forces reinforcements. Moonlit Lovers also has one brief one in the final chapter where despite all the positivity and faith placed on Tact and his chosen Angel to pilot the Unit 07, the Angel in question begins to have doubt over their chances of coming back alive. Eternal Lovers has two. A fruitless battle against Wein and the hijacked Unit 07 leaves the Angel Wing in need of repair, the Elsior in need of reinforcement as enemies begin to close in while they were too busy with their main target. In what is considered the toughest mission in the first trilogy, which is saying something because the games are exceptionally simple, the Elsior already at half health must be escorted to a safe-zone while navigating against a hefty fleet of defensive enemy positions and long-range attackers. All of this while you're down one Angel who is your ace or possibly even your only healer. The vessel carrying Gern's Chrono Quake Bomb is destroyed, but the bomb itself is intact without any signs of damage. The Angel Wing unleash their hyper weapons in a desperate attempt to stave off another apocalypse. Thankfully, Tact and his chosen Angel know exactly what needs to be done. While there is hope in the couple's eyes, the rest of the Angel Wing wildly protest to try and have their friends return to them instead of going after the bomb to stop its detonation up close.

Running Gag: Milfie's luck causing rain when the team goes for a picnic. Mint is usually the only person who's ready for the chance. Also, her oven exploding when she tries to bake a cake (she says it only happens one out of ten times). Ranpha either yelling at or hitting Tact whenever she thinks he's made a romantic mistake of some kind. Not on her own route though, where she acts lovey-dovey to Tact instead. Of course, then the running gag is Ranpha's endearing yet cavities-inducing constant invocation of romance tropes. Her non-romantic running gag makes it into her route in EL, but not by choice. Chitose writes just about everything in her diary. Also, for someone who prides herself at being the perfect model for a soldier, she gets flustered very easily. Vanilla's Space Rabbits are absolutely adorable...and responsible for at least one hijinks involving threads in Moonlit Lovers. Mint's Sweet Tooth tendencies being responsible for the creation of the monstrously sweet artificial sweetener. How sweet? Try 10,000 times as sweet as sugar!

Attack Drone: Mint's ship, the Trick Master, is equipped with these. They allow her to attack even as she's ending one attack run and going into another, and her Limit Break sees her release her entire stock to blast away at every ship in range.

Orbital Bombardment: The beginning of the first game has Eonia's fleet raining death over planet Transbaal, destroying the royal palace and every member of the royal family with it.

Ruling Family Massacre: The first game opens up with the Traansbal royal palace bombarded by Eonia's forces, and the royal family (except for Shiva, who was at the White Moon at the time) completely wiped out.

The last time, and in the most epic fashion, is the White Moon's call for reinforcements that redirected the 8th Fleet during the desperate retreat from Unit 7 being piloted by Wein after he stole it and the subsequent Val-Fasc ambush.

Attack! Attack! Attack!
Galaxy Angel (Video Game) / int_ff070bbd
comment
Attack! Attack! Attack!: For all of Tact's informed tactical prowess, this is essentially what your strategy turns into. All supposed "strategizing" usually ends up being "destroy all enemies" or "destroy X". That being said, only the very first GA game suffers from this, mostly because it was a new entry; subsequent ones do throw a couple of curveballs here and there to spice things up.
