A Flash game loosely related to Katawa Shoujo and not-so-loosely related to NANACA†CRASH!!. Has similar mechanics to the latter: catapult a character (Hisao) into the air and bounce him off other characters, many of which have special speed-boosting effects, trying to get him to travel as far as possible. Can be found here in all its explicitly beta and exceedingly ridiculous glory.

Expendable Clone: After colliding with Gendo twice to produce the necessary clones, the next special activates Multiball: two extra Hisaos enter the game. During Multiball, Hisaos can die, and the game returns to normal mode (in which Hisao cannot die) once only one Hisao is still alive.

Guide Dang It! | |
Katawa Crash (Video Game) / int_6ec989d8 | comment |
Guide Dang It!: A number of the game's mechanics are hidden from the player. The instructions are clear about hitting Mutou slowing you twice as badly as hitting the ground; what they don't say is that, if you have any piggy bounces when you hit him, he takes all of them away (noted by his interaction line changing from "HOMEWORK!" to "LIBRARY PASS!"). Nomiya appears to be useless, unless you hit him while the background is whited out, at which point he restores it to normal. The conditions required to activate the Rin timer are kept deliberately unmentioned. In order to activate it, you have to hit a character (any character) while the lower 3 digits of your distance are around 250 or 750.

Katawa Crash (Video Game) / int_98b1dc8f | comment |
Luck-Based Mission: The characters are mostly arranged regularly, but this doesn't matter much once you get going decently fast and dozens of them fly past you every second. Chie plays this very straight with a roulette-based attack (and an achievement for getting a certain random result from it). Probably the worst case is getting Unlimited Drill Works: hit Hanako, then hit Misha (already rare) while Misha's Hanako-interrupt effect is active, which is a very small window.

Shout-Out | |
Katawa Crash (Video Game) / int_c75df49a | comment |
Shout-Out: Too many to list, mostly to Katawa Shoujo and its various memes. Also has quite a few to other things, like the Ludicrous Speed and See You Space Cowboy achievements, out-of-place side characters like Gendo, and other random things like Kenji being described as the House Slythindor. Misha seems to be fond of using Kefka's laugh, as well. Unlimited Drill Work as contains a few too, such as The Beatles song 'A Day in the Life', the end of which is used, and neatly segues into the Star Trek theme. It also uses the distinctive "TARDIS vworp" as a sound effect. Speaking of Misha, her intervention usually has her shouting "Stop, delinquent!", then advising Hisao to "take it easy," transform into a giant flying Yukkuri, eat Hisao, and fly him a few hundred meters or so before exploding. Her blocking Hanako's effect is heralded with COMBO BREAKER! The 'Rin In A Bin' special contains several nods to Nadeko Sengoku; Rin dresses up as her when the 1-up is activated, and using it causes 'Rin'nai Circulation' to appear on screen, a nod to her Image Song Renai Circulation, a small bit of the chorus of which plays both times. NOW YOU'VE DONE IT! The entire game is done to the tune of Kuusou Rumba
