Super Cosplay War Ultra is a doujin fighting game released by "Team FK" for the PC. Since 2004, it's undergone numerous updates with new characters, game modes and stages. The current edtion is "~Infinity~" (無限大 or "GENKAI TOPPA"), released near the end of 2014. In a nutshell, think of Pocket Fighter, but with the fanservice (not that sort of fanservice) taken up to eleven.Some time ago in a place called "FK City", a mysterious explosion happened and there was a chemical leak. Citizens got sick from it, but since everyone got better, the incident was Hand Waved... that is, until a bunch of them received the supernatural ability to transform into characters and elements from various anime, manga, films and video games and began using these powers as "Super Cosplayers (SCs)". But, like with any god-given powers, some of them decided to use it out of selfishness, creating the anti-government group "The BR". The military couldn't stand a chance against the super powered individuals; luckily, some SCs fought alongside the government and managed to stop The BR.The characters (and the series they cosplay) include: Ryuko & Zoma (Classic Getter Robo and Shin Getter Robo, respectively) Kiki (Ojamajo Doremi) Chung (Naruto, specifically pre-Shippuden) Amiro (Mobile Suit Gundam, specficially Amuro Ray and his associated mobile suits) Anmc P (Universal Century Mecha-Mooks, such as the Ball and the Guncannon) Giant; yes, the same person from the show (Mazinger Z, but also Giant's attributes) G Suneo (GaoGaiGar; her name`s derived from Suneo) Yo (Resident Evil) Sin (American Horror Movies (like Friday the 13th) and Onimusha) Lizard & Kay (Evangelions and the seventeen Angels, respectively) Dido (Virtual-ON) Sakuya (Sakura Wars) Alex (Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger/Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers) Sou (Dancougar) Hiso & Erus (Hunter × Hunter (Genei Ryoudan and the protagonists, respectively)) OS Feng (Shaman King) Sean (Hoshin Engi) Gon (Digimon) Kate (.hack) Remu (Machine Robo) Rear (GEAR Fighter Dendoh) Rario (Ryu in Mario's clothes) TTRO (My Neighbor Totoro) Super Astro Man Z (Astro Boy himself, except a lot more buff) Gigi (Kamen Rider Shocker Mooks) SWW (Saint Seiya) Ogi & Ziro (OZ mobile suits and the Endless Waltz Gundams, respectively, with Yun and Yang from Street Fighter III joining Ziro's posse.) Zaku Golf Asura (Mazinger Z's Baron Ashura) Pac-Helo (Take a wild guess) Aya (Final Fantasy) Yunan/Yinyan (Full Metal Panic!) Z-Mega (Rugal Bernstein in his 2002 incarnation. Includes Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium voice samples) Shin-Z (A hidden form that's a callback to God/Ultimate Rugal in Capcom Vs. SNK 2) Zenka (Super Robot Wars, specifically Sanger Zonvolt and every Super Robot he pilots) Alpha (Super Robot Wars Alpha, specifically The Four Gods from the "RyuuOuKi Denki" manga) 'Evil Doraemon' (The character himself turned into a muscular, sinister SNK Boss with the voice of Norio Wakamoto)The team behind this game would later go on to make Chaos Code. Unsurprisingly, that game contains a few references to this one. |
