Blasphemous is an upcoming 2-D Hack and Slash Platform Game for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, macOS, UNIX, and Nintendo Switch. It is being developed and directed by The Game Kitchen, creators of The Last Door.Players take on the role of "The Penitent One", the last member of a congregation known as The Silent Sorrow. After the deaths of their group, they find themselves in Orthodoxia's "Age of Corruption", following the transformation of The High Pontiff into a burning tree whose ashes swallowed up a majority of the church leaders and transformed them into monsters.Its Kickstarter campaign launched on May 23, 2017, reaching its goal in a little over a day. It concluded on June 20, earning a total of $333,246 (an appropriate 666% of its original goal). | |
