Advancing Wall of Doom: Azathoth, in the Asylum. Stay in a single level for 3 minutes and it appears as a cloud of shadows and teeth. It can not be stopped, slowed down, or killed, but the slightest touch from it kills you instantly. To a lesser extent, Yog-Sothoth at the end of The Mountains of Madness. He behaves similarly to Azathoth, except he doesn't damage you if he catches up to you. However, he obscures your vision for as long as he's floating around you, which can leave you vulnerable to monsters and other hazards. | |
