It becomes especially ridiculous when it comes to the three love interests. Adam quits in order to keep Jamie from being eliminated and wishes them luck in stopping Ivy from winning... yet he'll still vote for Ivy if the player hasn't reached ally status with him. Mackenzie becomes extremely angry when Jamie is voted out, lashing out at other contestants and making it her personal mission to find out who was responsible (who turns out to be Ivy)... and then votes for Ivy unless the player has reached ally status with her. Even if you reveal to Derek that Ivy used him as her pawn and manipulated him into having a fake showmance, and despite the fact that he frequently talks about how much he admires Jamie, he still votes for Ivy if the player hasn't reached ally status with him. Conversely, in both the first and second books, if Jamie takes the option to talk to the Jury and says the right things, Jamie can achieve Ally status with each of them, gaining their votes, regardless of what their relationship status is prior to this conversation and what has happened between them in the past. |
