You need to collect and level up your cards to clear mission levels (which have different stat requirements, each prioritizing some of the stats) and progress in the story, where you'll have to work with BTS and overcome the various challenges on the way to help them debut successfully as a small company idol group and keep their career beyond that.Along with the BTS Story, there's also Another Story, seven side-stories featuring one member, set in an Alternate Universe where the members don't know each other and pursue wildly different individual paths, with the Player Character helping them in their goals. These range from saving a member's rice cake family business, to collaborating in the search of a lost child, to helping a member overcome his stage fright for a piano competition. They work much like the main story, with 6 Chapters of story levels and mission levels. The "Second Season" of Another Story shakes the story and the mechanics a bit: the plot, now divided in 7 chapters of around 20 levels each, involve the Another Story version of the members finding the Magic Shop, a strange store that concedes wishes for the price of a memory, with the members interacting among themselves without the presence of the Player Character; the mechanics of the levels involve using your cards to achieve a certain punctuation, the closer to it the better, but you cannot get too below or too above the assigned score or you lose. This establishes his calm but direct way to approach issues, his bluntness, and how he picks his battles and chooses to end them (leaving his abilities to speak for themselves). In his first appearance, Hoseok is dancing on the street in front of a large excited audience when the manager finds him. When it starts raining mid-routine, the audience (with the exception of the manager) leaves, but Hoseok keeps on dancing, unfazed. When the manager talks to him, Hoseok greets them with his signature warm smile and states that he doesn't mind how many people are watching as long as he gets to dance. This shows his immense talent and passion for dance, as well as his warm but resilient attitude. Jimin is a spectator of the street dance contest, and leaves quickly once it finishes. He reacts timidly to the manager's questioning, mentions being the top of his arts academy when asked but is unsure of why he's being offered an audition, and emphatically insists that he does not dance like the street dancers or care about anything other than modern dance - even though he was clearly invested in the street performances. This shows he's immensely talented, but he's also (at least initially) shy, insecure and unsure about what he really wants. He comes later to the audition, now sure after the manager told him to follow his heart, with a dance routine he practiced so hard for, that the manager says in their internal narration that they can smell his pain patches. This shows his determination and how hard he works on his craft. Seokjin first appears on the cover of a college magazine. When Seokjin's offered an audition (after initially running away from the manager), he says the manager's is not the first attempt to audition him (though is certainly the most memorable)... as no one can pass "without doing a double take at [his] face, after all". He reacts jokingly to being asked about Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jeongguk (as he does not know them), but quickly reassures the manager once he sees the manager's disappointment. This establishes him as someone popular and confident (if slightly eccentric) with a tendency to make jokes, but who immediately senses when something is wrong and offers helps when needed. The manager finds Jungkook practicing singing in a room and lamenting that he can only sing without choking when he's alone. When the manager introduces him to Namjun, Jungkook recognizes him and stares at him, doe-eyed. This establishes his singing skills, his initial Performance Anxiety, and his wide-eyed admiration for Namjun (and later, for his other hyungs). Taehyung arrives very late to the audition, running but smiling mischievously (with Namjun describing him as a possible troublemaker), and reveals that the saxophone case found frequetly the manager is his. This establishes him as someone who, despite his apparently carefree attitude, has other unusual talents under his sleeve. | |
