A Web sitcom that updates approximately once a month starring the cast and crew of LoadingReadyRun as exaggerated versions of themselves in their everyday lives doing odd geeky things in odd geeky ways. The series differs from their regular sketch content by having the same characterizations and continuity, but said continuity is loose enough that one could jump in at the beginning of any season and not worry too hard about references to previous seasons. The first season had a plot about the crew trying to make it big, while also dealing with an artist scorned trying to take them down. Episodes ranged from 13 to almost 20 minutes long. They also got on the Jay Leno show. Following that season the episodes become shorter, in part due to the second season being produced in a partnership with The Escapist, and the seasons last anywhere from two to four years. Starting with the fifth season each episode premiered as part of LoadingReadyLive, LRR's monthly live variety show. The second season also featured the episode "It's Magic!", focusing on the crew getting back into Magic: The Gathering. The group's passion for the game and opportunity to connect with representatives from Wizards of the Coast allowed them to create a full Spin-Off. Friday Nights premiered in 2012, and over eight seasons viewed the growing and changing LRR crew play with each other, comment on the current state of Magic, and get into misadventures around their Local Game Store. From September 2013 to May 2014 there was also a spinoff within the spinoff called Hero's Path, which focused on Kathleen trying to beat the Hero's Path event during Theros block. In 2019 Wizards ended their sponsorship, but LRR retained ownership of the series and planned on crowdfunding further episodes the following year. But of course...As with many things, the COVID-19 Pandemic threw a wrench into both series—the fifth season of commodoreHUSTLE was cut short, and aforementioned plans to fund a ninth season of Friday Nights had to be postponed. A few years after, Graham Stark's cancer diagnosis and treatment also put him on the sidelines of the company's projects. However, soon enough the team was back on their feet and cH made a surprise return in October 2023, with new episodes rolling out every few months as part of LoadingReadyLive. In January of 2024 a successful Kickstarter was run for the ninth season of Friday Nights, which is set to premier later that year. These Web Originals contain examples of: | |
