Mega64 is a low-budget (though their budget has increased considerably) Sketch Comedy series created by and starring Rocco Botte, Derrick Acosta, and Shawn Chatfield. The series started out focusing primarily on skits involving one or more people reenacting video games in real life. Many of Mega64's skits can be watched on their YouTube channel. The story of Mega64 centers on Dr. Poque, a Mad Scientist who creates the ultimate gaming console, the eponymous Mega64. He kidnaps Rocko Boaty and Derek Ackawzdha and forces them to beta-test the machine. They are soon joined in these tests by Sean Chatfeild, who initially was supposed to deliver e-mails. The cast is rounded out by Horatio, Dr. Poque's Mexican roommate who steals everything, and Marcus, a sexist puppet who works for Poque. Not to be confused with Mega Man 64, the N64 version of Mega Man Legends, nor a goon going by the same name with a large number of Let's Plays.

The Cameo: Shigeru Miyamoto appears in the Super Mario Bros. skit. Hideo Kojima and Cliffy B appear in a Metal Gear Solid 4 skit. Kevin Smith, Paul Schrier, Tommy Tallarico and Tim & Eric appear in the Season 2 finale. Most of them appear for only a few seconds. Mike Nelson plays Human Frankie in Version 3. Gabe Newell appears in the Beatles Rock Band skit, eventually agreeing to be Ringo. Yu Suzuki and Cliff Bleszinski appear in a skit where Suzuki describes the ending of Shenmue. Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi appeared in a parody on how he created Final Fantasy to get out of his job at Square Enix and start a Hip-Hop career. Kutaragi's Way, a parody of the PlayStation's creation and eventual success in the style of a low-budget 80s action movie, features Sony's Ken Kutaragi introducing and closing the video, as well as playing the CEO of Nintendo during the actual skit. The guys themselves cameoed on the first episode of The Aquabats Supershow.

Do Not Adjust Your Set: Parodied with the MLKcast, which takes place every January during Martin Luther King Week. The MLKcast lasts for a week, hijacks Mega64 TV, and usually consists of random visuals and videos. The real highlight of the MLKcast though is that it becomes a venue for the Mega64 crew to casually pop in at random and interact with or put on some kind of show for the fanbase, turning it into almost a festival of sorts.

Gross-Out Show: The last podcast of every year is called the "Christmascast", in which the main cast and many of their friends and special guests gorge themselves on disgusting food. The 2016 show was the absolute climax because Kevin brought in surstromming, a HIGHLY pungent fish that smelled so foul they legitimately could not go on. The smell apparently stuck in the studio for weeks. After that they switched the format to more of a competition style, still based on eating (and puking) as much as possible.

Pac Man Fever: In their Nintendo 3DS video, Shawn is clearly playing Rhythm Heaven on an original DS, but mashing buttons (the game exclusively uses the touch screen), and the action they describe is nothing like the game. Justified since the 3DS wasn't actually out at the time the video was made. note Rule of Funny also probably applies.

Stylistic Suck: A common trope that appears in most of the skits due to the cast and crew's love of schlocky films. Done somewhat unintentionally during their early days in Version 1 and 2. Gamer Warz and Gamer Warz 2 are badly acted, horribly edited, annoyingly shot, the audio goes out of sync, and the second one goes on for 12 minutes. It's also hilarious. "THE DEADPOOL MOVIE!!" is about a cheap Make-a-Wish parody hiring amateur filmmakers to fulfill a child's dying wish to see the Deadpool movie. The movie, naturally, ends up being everyone's worst nightmare of how the real movie could have gone.

Villain Decay: Poque starts out as a megalomaniac Mad Scientist with world domination ambitions; he's clearly a sadist who enjoys the power trip of kidnapping people, experimenting on them and even killing them. In the later seasons, Poque is written as if he was simply a naive and misguided victim, simply following FALZ' orders. Given Poque's enormous ambitions and ego at the start of the series, the drastic change in his personality is quite noticeable.

Bait-and-Switch: In TODD & AARON'S GAME AWARDS 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, the titular characters give the "Most F***d Up Move By A Game Company Releasing A Game And Then Erasing The Creator's Name From The Package" award to... Mad Max (2015) for erasing George Miller's name.note The joke being that it was about the controversy behind Konami forcing Hideo Kojima's name removed from Metal Gear Solid V's cover. The second layer is referring to George Miller as Frank Miller. The third layer is the Mad Max game came out on the same day as Metal Gear Solid V. Aside from them playing the game at the beginning, "METAL GEAR SOLID V SPOOF" has nothing to do with Metal Gear Solid V. They later had to clarify that the parallel between having two Jared Fogles in their video and two Big Bosses in the actual game was completely unintentional, since they had no idea of the game's twist when they made the video.

Tony, who killed Sean's girlfriend and told him to "Eat at Joe's!" in a flashback in "Poque," returns in "Delaware" to kill Sean, and is eventually revealed to be one of The Killers. The bloody knife that appeared out of nowhere in "I Feel Asleep" was created by the Specter as a clue to how he died.

Take That!: Rocco made a two-part parody of Linkara's overly detailed and passive-aggresive rant against his fans from one of his Power Rangers retrospectives. The guys mocked a now defunct game review show called Gamelife with Gamez Alive One video mocked "angry" game reviewers. They held a panel at a convention complaining about how their Anime Music Video was rejected for the contest. When they showed it to the audience, it was a montage of them recording themselves watching Dragon Ball Z off their TV and thumbing through the manga set to "Bodies". They were mocking low effort anime music videos using overused songs that were common around that time.

Political Overcorrectness: TODD & AARON'S GAME AWARDS 2014!!!!!!!! (FAMILY FRIENDLY) is built around this down to the title, opening with a fake legal disclaimer where Todd & Aaron have been deemed "unfunny and offensive", and this new show will have no vulgarities or inflammatory statements. While this is ignored almost immediately by the duo, it still comes to ahead later in the episode, where the "Hottest Chick I Wanna Bang" category is reduced down to "Girl" because they couldn't say the original phrase anymore.
