Meme House is a subseries of Vinesauce, featuring Joel playing a heavily modded version of The Sims 4, as he creates a cast of bizarre Sims and sees their weird, hilarious, or crazy hijinks. Like Vinny's Vinesauce Tomodachi Life streams, Meme House has taken a life of its own. The first stream in the series proper was made on July 31st, 2019, with an earlier Sims 4 stream occurring in 2015 regarded as the series pilot. While Joel had made many streams of Sims games before, Meme House is the first time Joel stays with a single save for multiple streams, developing its wacky cast of characters over time. Joel continuously adds new Sims to the series, but he mainly focuses on playing with the first three Sims he created in the series: Bogan, Dio, and Garfield.Season 1 ended on December 4th, 2019, counting 12 Parts and over 36 hours of mayhem. Season 2 began on May 4th, 2020 and ended on August 11th 2020. A playlist of all the parts can be found here. A Christmas Special OVA was released on December 2020.A miniseries, set in The Sims 2, began on December 17, 2022. Titled Dogg House, it follows the misadventures of Dr. Phil, Snoop Dogg and Dante. The intro to this miniseries confirmed that a third season for Meme House is still being considered, but no start date has been set yet.Due to the ever-changing nature of this series, all spoilers will be unmarked.

Anyone Can Die: Played With. Every character can die due to the violent nature of the many mods included in the series, which at times even Joel cannot predict or prevent, however rarely does death actually stick for good, certain characters (like the main household of Bogan, Garfield and Dio) having effectively plot armor due to Joel being unwilling to let them die meaningless deaths, and thus are brought back to life should anything happen to them. Even of those who do die for good, most of them end up sticking around as ghosts anyway.

Tempting Fate: Said right before Garfield almost burns the house down in Part 1: Before Jill and Nemesis' wedding, Joel jokingly expresses concern that it's going to turn into a "massacre", with the chat suggesting it's going to be known as "The Ketchup Wedding". The wedding gets interrupted halfway through by an armed robber. Joel tempts fate again in Part 15 while Sonic is cooking chili dogs, in the same way he did in Part 1. Of course, Sonic fucks up and almost burns to death.

Secret Room: The Season 1 finale shows a secret room underneath the Kong Treehouse, containing an imprisoned Funky Kong. In Season 2, Johnny Zest now has a secret trapdoor in his household, containing his Supervillain Lair... Well, kind of. it's just a room with a comfy couch and a large flat-screen TV where he can relax. Again in Season 2, in the Pepsigym (the city's gym that got bought by Pepsiman between Season 1 and 2) has a hidden room underneath a shed out of the way of the main building. It doesn't seem all that special at first, having just random junk and a non-functioning Super Mario Bros cabinet. Untill, of course, once you notice that the random junk is forming a barricade that leads to an ominous-looking room even deeper down. It's left ambigous if it was Pepsiman himself that created the hidden room. While some glimpses were given sparsely throughout the season, it was only in Part 20 that the barricade was removed by Bulk Bogan and the content was fully explored: It's a room filled with candles positioned in a pentagram, with the urn of the original Wario/Edgar Kohler at the center, along with a mysterious grave that gives off black smoke. It's significance is unknown, but it likely has something to do with the strange cult seen in the city.

Crapsack World: Although the series started off in a normal sims 4 world, with the only strange thing being the Bogan household and their antics, as the series progressed and more characters were introduced the world became more and more chaotic with each episode, not least due to the malign influence of Bonzi Buddy, which flooded the world with horrific, deformed demons and corrupted the skies themselves, making them display giant error messages and Bonzi Buddies. Heck, even though as of Part 12 Bonzi is now dead and the world free of his demons and corruption the world is still a complete clusterfuck regardless and is full of cannibals, Ax-Crazy psychopaths, SerialKillers, EldritchAbominations, CloudCuckooLanders, Body Horror, people bursting into flames for no reason, spontaneous random car accidents, ghosts, utterly incompetent police and people breaking into Fortnite dances that last for hours on end. Things have arguably gotten even worse as of season 2, with roving gangs of kidnappers driving round looking for targets, creepy red-eyed sims everywhere and flamethrower-wielding pyromaniacs on the rampage. Even Bonzi periodically comes back as a ghost, although thankfully he's a lot less dangerous as a ghost and his demons have been sent back where they came from.

I'm a Humanitarian: In Part 3, Joel uses a cannibalism mod to have Dio murder a Sim and harvest meat from the body. Later on in the same stream, Bulk nearly eats some of the "meat". During the Part 4 stream, an old lady randomly kills a woman in a night club and harvests meat from her corpse, much to Joel and Bulk's horror. During Part 7, Nemesis disposes of Layne Hartman (the original owner of the house he and CBT Wizard Johnson moved into) by killing him and eating the body. As soon as VargFren and Pepsiman move into Arian Mc Nulty's (aka Ceaser Milan's) home, Arian 'greets' vargFren by chopping him up into mince meat. Part 10 has not just one but two deaths due to cannibal sims: one being a random sim in a bar attacked by a female cannibal and the other being Big Smoke after he gets ambushed by a cannibal ghost. Smoke then eats part of his own corpse.

Aborted Arc: During Part 5, Joel frequently mentions his intentions to kill Johnny Zest, only to never go through with it. After Dio murders the head vampire in Part 3, Joel mentions that the other vampires will find out and hunt down Dio for it, but nothing major seems to happen aside from a couple of vampires walking past and trying to visit the Bogan house in the same episode. Nobody lets them in and they eventually get bored and wander off. Early in Season 2 and late in Season 1 Joel discussed the idea of creating the Ghostbusters to deal with the ghost problem in the Bogan household, but the idea was abandoned after the Bogan household burned down when Joel tried to execute the idea (Albeit, with only one member, Bill Murray Ghostbuster). At one point late in Season 2 Joel announced that the Bogan household was going to go on a raid to take back the Nintendo Switch and copy of Skyrim that the Eggmen had stolen from them, however plot events got in the way of that.

Trash of the Titans: The Bogan household is by far the worst of the bunch, with the garden having a constantly broken toilet, giant photographs of Dio on the wall, a literal trash-growing plant and weed. The inside is arguably worse, with ghosts constantly breaking the toilets and sinks and the floors always being inexplicably wet. The Squarepants house becomes this in part 11, with floors wet either with water, blood or urine and nearly everything broken, including the toilet and shower, meaning the Squarepants household keep urinating themselves and aren't able to clean up. While Part 11 is All Just a Dream, the household in later parts continue to have broken utilities for the same reasons as the Bogan household.

Though he leaves the honor of killing her to Bulk. Come Part 10 Dio would find himself on the receiving end of one of these after getting ambushed by a pair of bullies. Naturally, Dio is quick to show them how stupid this decision was. Johnny's first scene in Season 2 is him beating the shit out of Bogan upon seeing him on his lot.

Death as Comedy: Murders in the series are very over-the-top thanks to the mods. Sims have been murdered with axes, chainsaws, gunshots, stylish combo attacks from Berserk-sized greatswords, speeding cars summoned out of nowhere, butchered alive and cannibalized, and more. Strongly averted in the case of Madeline killing Bulk. The animation for stabbing a Sim to death is extremely brutal, as Bulk can be seen desperately struggling as Madeline repeatedly plunges the knife deep into his chest.

Joel's Twitch chat complained after Joel resurrected Dio several times in Parts 14 and 15, getting annoyed that deaths weren't sticking despite Joel saying that the core Bogan household would never stay dead but other characters would, but when in Part 17 DoomGuy was killed by Vibe Check and stayed dead, Joel's chat instantly started complaining that he be brought back, much to Joel's amusement, who decided to really drive home the point that DoomGuy was, in fact, dead.

Bittersweet Ending: Season 1 ends with Bonzi dead and his demon army wiped out, and Jill and Nemesis' wedding goes off relatively smoothly, however Johnny Zest has finally snapped after 12 episodes of sheer torment and goes on a crotch-kicking rampage, becoming "Dark Johnny" in the process. Season 2 ends with Liquid Bogan and Liquid Garfield defeated and Bonzi's soul destroyed for good, however Funky Kong nearly dies in the final battle and then leaves to live in the jungle with Donkey Kong, and Liquid Bogan and Liquid Garfield are still alive and likely will be out for revenge. Meanwhile the cultists are still at large, having moved the location of Edgar Kohler's remains so that Bulk couldn't destroy them, and Johnny Zest has continued his descent into psychopathic villainy and allied himself with one of the CBT Queens.

Big Fancy House: The Fren Household, which belonged to Arian Mcnulty, is pretty damn huge, has comfortable beds and isn't haunted by a myriad of ghosts. The Fren household is also very wealthy in comparison to all the other households in the series. This wealth also allows Pepsiman to buy and re-brand the gym in the city. In Season 2 Part 1 Liquid/Venom Bogan and Liquid Garfield/Lasagna Ocelot are shown living within a gigantic, white mansion in another city entirely. It's by far the biggest and most luxurious house in the series, giving it the vibe of a James Bond villain's mansion.

Wham Shot: In Part 7, a split second before the act happens, Joel mouses over and is stunned by the Stab Chest action in Bogan's interactions queue. In Part 8 no less than a minute after Joel moves in vargFren and Pepsiman the original owner of the home, Arian, kills vargFren and cannibalizes his body. Pepsiman soon avenges Fren by shooting the cannibal in the head. Early in Part 9, Joel notices Twitch Chat is sad so he selects him to see why and sees his mood is described as Dying due to a fatal illness. Thankfully, in spite of 20% odds, Twitch survives after a successful surgery. Wesker knocking on the door of the Bogan household in Part 14 seems fairly normal...untill a split second later, both the ghost of Bonzi Buddy AND Madeline appear out of goddamn nowhere and RUSH inside the house! The house was set on fire soon after, though ironically they had nothing to do with it. Part 17 opens with Freddie Mercury discovering what appears to be Bonzi's evil lair and in there he finds what looks to be plans to make a clone army of Bulk that's being run by Liquid Bogan. Things start calming down after this revelation until Vibe Check randomly kills Doom Guy.

Early-Installment Weirdness: The first couple of episodes are weird by way of being normal (by Meme House standards anyway). The Sims world is pretty much normal, instead of the clusterfuck of later episodes with things that are pretty much taken for granted and regular later (such as sims cannibalizing each other, breaking into Fortnite dances and having bizarre appearances, as well as Fire Lady's general existence) being absent. Not only that, but Enyaba (who is actually still known by her original name, Kayleigh, at this point) Ordonez is actually more of a Butt-Monkey and suffers more harassment from the Bogan household than Johnny Zest, who is yet to gain his Cosmic Plaything status, the Bogan house isn't yet a Haunted House and Trash of the Titans, the Bogan household is the only household and Dio isn't a vampire. There's also relatively little in the way of story arcs (the closest thing to a story arc being the Bogan household's quest to buy the BBQ Pit Boys Grill), and Cerebus Syndrome has yet to kick in. A more minor example, but while Nathan Fontenot appears as part of the police, he is yet to be partnered with Nick McLaughlin, and for the first two episodes is initially partnered with Bret Blank (who is hacked to death by Dio after the latter escapes from prison in Part 1) and later Finnegan Pierce (who is butchered and eaten by Dio in Part 2).

Body Horror: Most of the characters wearing a costume suffer from this. Garfield's jello-like movements are the most obvious (Joel comparing it to "being full of parasites") but they all have it to some degree, more noticeable examples being Dio's deformed hands and Funky's conjoined feet. This is taken to a whole new level when the Demonic Sims started showing up with deformed features or blood soaked bodies and sometimes outright missing parts of their face. In season 2, multiple Sims have appeared with plain red eyes like Pepsiman's (when he's out of his Pepsi suit).

Bizarrchitecture: Joel attempts to make the Kong house look like a treehouse; the result is a hilariously weird house where the main two-story structure is suspended off the ground, which one enters from the second floor through a super-long staircase and pathway outside. In Part 7, he lampshades this by wondering how the house's flushing toilet would work. (He then creates a "shit pit" outside underneath the toilet in Part 9, showing that it's just a hole.)

Disney Death: In Part 7 Bulk's death at the hands of Madeline ends up being temporary thanks to Kira's Bites The Dust. In Part 9 Funky Kong's sudden death by car is also temporary as Bonzi uses his magic to revive him after his plead to the Reaper failed. In Part 11 the deaths of various Sims, including Nemesis and Spongebob, are completely retconned when it's revealed the entire episode was an extended nightmare sequence. The only character who doesn't get brought back is Jill's son, who was a figment of her dream and never existed in the first place. Both of Dio's deaths in part 2 of season 2 are undone by Joel reloading the game although the second revival comes at the cost of Bill Murray's existence. DoomGuy's death in episode 17 is a notable aversion, because despite Joel losing his save file and DoomGuy's death being reverted like all the other examples here, Joel still insists that the events were canon, thus DoomGuy was killed offstream in time for part 18.

Trauma Conga Line: Part 11 is one for Jill and Spongebob that turns out to be just a dream. For Jill, she gets impregnated by Nemesis before he dies, feeling incredibly depressed for the rest of the stream. Then, after a house invasion and another household member dying, she finally delivers the baby... only for the baby to get taken away as soon as it enters the household. For Spongebob, he gets incredibly ill, then he gets shot in the leg by a house invader, then when he tries to go to the hospital to cure the wound they somehow fail twice, despite the odds of success being 90%. Even after that he refuses to accept his fate and tries to become a vampire through Dio, but it's too late and he dies in Johnny Zest's front yard. Dio experiences one in Part 14 when he finds himself unable to assault or kill anyone for basically the whole episode when his targets fight back, he even gets (temporarily) killed by Jotaro and later dies ( again, temporarily) in a house fire after he got trapped in the bathroom by the flames. This trope best describes Johnny Zest's life.

Joel remains cautious about Anakin really showing up and eventually he does in Part 15 but this time The World snaps his neck before he can cause any damage. However it seems all this does is delay Dio's demise as he is killed by a different serial killer not too long after Anakin showed up thus fulfilling the foreshadowing but in a different way.

Breather Episode: Part 8. Despite Cerebus Syndrome having kicked in with the previous episode and the Demons making their first appearance in this episode, not to mention the ending where Bonzi Buddy rocks up to the gym surrounded by demonic clones of himself, squawking crows, lightning and thunder; Part 8 is generally Lighter and Softer than the previous and subsequent episodes, and although like Part 7 and Part 9, a major character dies, VargFren's death is a lot less shocking and more funny than Bogan's in Part 7 and Funky Kong's in Part 9 due to VargFren being instantly cannibalised as soon as he was added to the game, and the fact that he becomes a playable ghost and remains part of the household due to the way he died unlike Bogan and Funky also lessens the impact. Part 16 is this between the cliffhanger ending of Part 15 and the events of Part 17, due to being The Magic Bullet Special spin-off. Part 19, being a rather relaxed Vinesauce Is Hope special episode, nothing much happens in it other than the Vinesauce household being added into the game and getting into some shenanigans, contrasting it from the previous, more eventful episodes.

Kudzu Plot: While Season 1 had a fairly standard, though chaotic, overarching plotline of stopping a demonic invasion led by Bonzi Buddy, Season 2 is far more this trope: Tons of plot threads are hinted at and started which may or may not be connected to one another, including but not limited to: Liquid Bogan's clone army project underneath the Cursed Lands, the mysterious hidden room beneath the Pepsi Gym, the strange group of masked cultists, the various mannequins appearing randomly in town, the Russian mafia and it's connections with Liquid Bogan, and more. Took a Level in Jerkass: Johnny Zest started to lose his composure by the end of Season 1 but mainly went after people who directly bothered him. Though by Part 17 he starts attacking random people who had nothing to do with anything while Twitch just wanted to hangout. He also never texts Funky back.

Wham Episode: Part 7, for featuring Bulk Bogan's (temporary) death at the hands of Madeline. Part 9 reveals that Bonzi Buddy's corruption of the world is at 80%, and he has now flooded the world with demons. Not only that, but Funky Kong is hit by a car and has to be resurrected by Bonzi. To a lesser extent, Part 5, due to Enyaba's death at the hands of Kira being the first major character death in the series and Bonzi gaining the demonic powers that grow and become much more of a threat in later episodes. Part 11, the intended first season finale, had a string of nonstop traumatic events, including Nemesis being run over and Jill being pregnant with his child, Spongebob dying, and the baby being taken away. After an accidental save reset, it was declared noncanon, subverting this trope. Part 12, the Grand Finale of Season 1, features Jill and Nemesis' wedding, Johnny finally snapping after all the crap he's been put through over the series and becoming a crotch-kicking Monster Clown, and Doom Guy John moving in with Johnny, going on a demon-killing rampage before finally killing Bonzi Buddy and putting an end to his reign of terror. He also rescues Funky Kong while he's at it, and Funky moves in with the Bogan household while Garfield burns down the Kong treehouse. Part 17 features Freddie Mercury discovering an evil lair below the Cursed Lands that might have something to do with the resurrected Liquid Bogan, who keeps stalking the Bogan household throughout this episode. Meanwhile Johnny Zest has slipped further into madness and started attacking random people who haven't even done anything to him and neglecting his friends, while Vibe Check murdered DoomGuy with a grilled cheese sandwich. Part 18 somehow manages to upstage the last one with the reveal of Wario and Madeline's tombstones under the Pepsi Gym, the resolution to the Wesker kidnapping plot-line, Johnny getting stabbed at Geekcon and just barely avoiding dying followed by him killing an innocent sim because she made him mad, and the Bogan household finally getting pizza delivered to their house.

Dangerous Forbidden Technique: Extreme CBT, an even more powerful of regular CBT/crotch-kicking introduced in Part 18, is incredibly powerful, capable of knocking out any Sim struck by it, and unlike regular CBT, the pain persists for a long time. The drawback? It summons a CBT Queen whenever it's performed by anyone other than them, who will begin using Extreme CBT on EVERYONE in the vicinity.

The Kong Household featured Funky Kong and Bonzi Buddy. While Funky Kong is one of the only truly moral people in the entire series, Bonzi Buddy quickly surrenders his soul to a demonic entity and gains evil powers. However, the household effectively ceases to be after episode 12 wherein Bonzi is killed off by Doom Guy, Funky moves in with the Bogan household, and the house itself is burned to the ground by Garfield.

Quirky Household

Quirky Household: Every house Joel sets up. Calling them "bizarre" would be putting it lightly. The Bogan Household, consisting of Bulk Bogan, Dio Brando and Garfield is the first and arguably most focused on household. Bogan is a crime-lord in his day job and is a massive Cloud Cuckoo Lander with an obsession with muscles. Dio is just as evil as in his original series, but mostly spends his time kicking trash cans and writing bad books, and Garfield is the Only Sane Man who, ironically, is the profit-bringer to the household. As of Part XII, Funky Kong now lives with the Bogan household as well after Bonzi Buddy's death and the Kong Household's destruction. The Kira Household, featuring Yoshikage Kira, Killer Queen, and Stray Cat. A serial killer, his Standnote Who in game, is listed as his brother, and his cat. The Chat Household, consisting of Twitch Chat and Jerma, who live in a basement bunker below a tower. The Squarepants Household, featuring a depressed and reclusive Spongebob with Loners Are Freaks and Yandere tendencies along with Albert Wesker and Jill Valentine. Albert is a Psycho for Hire with a huge sword and Jill Valentine was a former pre-made Sim who got transformed and transferred into the Household by Joel. As of Part XII, Nemesis T-Type also lives with the household as a result of his marriage to Jill. The T-Type Household, consisting of Nemesis T-Type, CBT Wizard Johnson, and a semi-normal sim named Layne Hartman. Nemesis is an angry monster zombie who likes eating people, CBT Wizard is a weird elderly wizard who likes kicking people in the crotch, and Layne is a completely normal sim who was groin attacked and then eaten by his new roommates and turned into a ghost. He still lives with them. As of Part XII, only CBT Wizard and Layne remain in the household as a result of Nemesis' marriage to Jill. The Fren Household, which features the duo of the faceless heroic mascot Pepsiman and the extremely odd looking but kindhearted vargFren, one of Joel's FrankerFaceZ emotes who's also a controllable ghost sim after being killed almost immediately after moving in by the cannibalistic owner of the home, who happens to be none other than the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan, who also works as a freelance guitarist. As punishment for his crimes, Pepsiman "evicts" Cesar, though his urn is still on the lot. The Bup Household, that consists of a childish Toad from the Mushroom Kingdom who suffers from the unfortunate affliction known as IBS and his pet raccoon Spaghetti Grapes who lives in a society. The Mercury Household, which has the odd crew of Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of the British rock band, Queen and Token Good Teammate, alongside soothing painter Bob Ross who has become a Mad Artist, a downright bizarre and terrifying yellow... thing named Vibe Check, who's obsessed with checking the vibes of others and occasionally models for Bob's paintings, and GTA gang leader Big Smoke, who's also a controllable ghost sim after being killed by a cannibalistic female ghost. The Zest Household, which features failed comedian and Cosmic Plaything Johnny Zest who also lives in a society, and the infamous demon slaying space marine DoomGuy John. The Krabs household is home solely to one of the other main characters of Spongebob, Mr. Krabs, a selfish shellfish who's only concerned with money and making more of it. Liquid versions of the main trio also reside in this world. Dio's clone lives by himself in a beautiful mansion after Bogan and Garfield killed their liquid counterparts. However, these deaths seemingly did not last as both Liquid Garfield and Liquid Bogan have somehow come back to life under the new names of Lasagna Oncelot and Venom Bogan, and live in an even fancier mansion in Willow Creak. The CD-i household which of course has the CD-i versions of Link, Zelda, and The King who live in a castle turned crack den as they all quickly take up cocaine addictions. The Eggman household which is an eggshaped building over an underground secret lair is home too the three Eggman brothers (The modern, Boom, and movie versions of Robotnik) having teamed up to end that pesky hedgehog once and for all. The pre-made Roomies household is now Sonic the Hedgehog's new home, Joel is planning to turn the 3 pre-made sims that live there into bastardized versions of Tails, Amy, and Knuckles. The Heckings from Brindleton Bay are a unique case since Joel didn't make this family and hasn't even played as them, they used to be normal pre-made sims until Joel decided to turn them into members the of Stardust crusaders after Brent was able to easily hold his own against Dio. Now the Heckings are Jotaro, Kakyoin, and Iggy respecitvely, but they differ from the manga selves quite significantly with Jotaro and Kakyoin being a married gay couple, Kakyoin not looking like himself at all aside from his hair color, and Iggy being a female french bulldog. The Magic Bullet Household seems normal at first. Both physically (except for Meme, who has a massive chin, and Grandma 2, who is an immortal old lady) and in attitude (they don't physically abuse eachother and act rather normally). However, they're quite obsessed with food, and with the all-in-one food processor known as Magic Bullet or Bullet Express. They tend to cook and eat massive amount of food, more than should ever be necessary. Joel also states they're swingers (as in, people who participate in orgies) though this is more of an Informed Attribute since they're never shown having sex. The entire mood of the household takes a dark turn once Ralph starts going on a murderous rampage. They're the second canon household in the series to be completely wiped out.

Laser-Guided Karma: During the season 2 premiere Wesker decides to sabotage the Harvestfest turkey by lacing it with stomach medicines, and it all goes according to plan (maybe a bit too well since he ends up getting sick from the food too). Karma kicks back hard when his house is invaded by a burglar and in the chaos Wesker is kidnapped, but due to the game glitching out is either returned or replaced by a clone of himself. Later that episode Wesker breaks a bottle over the head of a sim trying help clean his home, he is then randomly insulted and assaulted by a bunch of bullies.

Bathos: Basically everything related to Bulk Bogan dying in episode 7 is this. Before that even happens, he confesses his feelings to Madeline while Wario Fortnite-dances in the background. Then, when he actually does die, Joel plays "Il mare eterno nella mia anima," the soundtrack to an infamously sad scene from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and his housemates beg The Grim Reaper to let him live. But that doesn't change that the victim is a Gonk-faced mooskle-head, and said housemates are a flamboyantly dressed vampire and a creepy human-sized Garfield. At the same time, Garfield then goes on to kill Wario for the first time, while the Grim Reaper Fortnite dances, either oblivious to the fact that there's another soul to take, or simply waiting to witness Garfield's belated act of heroism. The Season 2 Finale is the epitome of Bathos, with the intentionally shoddy animations to show things that even a modded Sims 4 could, to the various jokes filled with the very lengthy Info Dump given by Liquid Bogan and Lasagna Ocelot, to the battles being portrayed as an epic climactic confrontation and a joke themselves, to Joel not-so-subtly resisting the urge to laugh every other line, leads to an insane finale that ends with the entire cast singing Baka Mitai in the grand finale.

Foreshadowing
Meme House (Web Video) / int_9d12bbc1
comment
Foreshadowing: Despite not being scripted, there is some accidental Foreshadowing for several events, mainly Bulk Bogan's death at the hands of Madeline. In Part 3, after being pranked by Bulk, Garfield tells him "I wish the Grim Reaper would just take you away!". In Part 5, after Bonzi Buddy gains demonic powers, he senses that he or another criminal might be in danger and that he and said criminal should try to protect themselves. A few episodes later, Bulk, whose job is literally being a criminal, gets stabbed to death in his own home by his friend. In Part 7, minutes before she kills him, Bulk discovers a new trait about Madeline: Hates Children, hinting that she isn't as nice as she initially seemed. In Part 9, Bonzi once again senses that he or another person might be in danger. In that same episode, Funky Kong gets run over by a random car and dies. He comes back as a ghost after Bonzi's plead to the Reaper fails despite it saying it succeeded and is later resurrected by Bonzi. A meta example: A popular fan-made image had Johnny Zest in clown makeup taking the place of Joker in the Joker (2019) movie poster, due to the similarities of the two characters being failed comedians with miserable lives. In Part 12 the similarities are solidified when Johnny has a mental breakdown; he puts on clown makeup, styles his hair back and colors it green, then goes completely bonkers. Some of the events in the non-canon part 11 foreshadow what happens in part 12. A burglar shows up, someone gets shot, a sim dies at Johnny's lot, two pre-established sims are killed off, Wesker kills some bullies, and Spongebob does drugs. Granted these occurrences are much more positive in part 12. In Part 4, after Bonzi Buddy is brainwashed by Dio to fix the Bogans' fridge, Joel asks the chat "Guys, what if Bonzi Buddy dies, trying to fix our fridge?" In the Season Finale, although it wasn't while fixing anyone's fridge, Bonzi does die. In Part 14 Joel briefly mentions recreating the ending of JJBA Part 3. He unintentionally does when Dio's failed attempt to kill Jotaro results in him getting murdered instead, though it doesn't stick since Joel reloads the save immediately after. Dio has a nightmare in Part 14 where Anakin burns down the Bogan house causing Dio to perish as well. In the Magic Bullet Special, early into the episode, Ralph tries to murder a random woman who decided to visit the Bullet Household, but gets a bottle smashed on the head, before passing out. This, alongside the teasing of the other household members, is heavy foreshadowing of the murderous rampage he does later in the same episode.

Mood Whiplash: An intense one happens during part 15. It starts off as a rather tame night at the Bogan house, and then Jotaro shows up. However it turns out he just wants to play video games and means no harm, but then Anakin randomly shows up ready to torch down the house like in Dio's nightmare. Before Anakin can cause any damage at all The World snaps his neck, then some random sims show up including a powerful vampire and a nerd. Things start calming down and Dio starts bullying the annoying nerd who walked in uninvited... and then the nerd kills Dio. Part 22, the Season 2 Finale, is one big Mood Whiplash. The episode starts normally, and continues to be normal, by the standards of the series, the only egregious things being Dio going around town and dicking around...And then, at the episode's midpoint, it suddenly cuts to Liquid Bogan and Lasagna Ocelot in their house talking about starting their master plan, and it all goes downhill from there.

A second one happens at the end of Season 2, and much like the first season's, it's mostly just funny stuff with some actual reveals that may play into future, such as Bob Ross opening a Meme Gallery, Jill getting pregnant with Nemesis' child and DoomGuy returning from Hell to exact his revenge on Vibe Check.

Berserk Button: Everyone gets annoyed seeing others cooking or showering in their house, despite how friendly they are to each other or if they're part of catering, and eventually kick them out. Although this is partly because none of the characters are given the "Always Welcome" trait from the Rewards Store which allows them to do anything on other households.

Although the series started off in a normal sims 4 world, with the only strange thing being the Bogan household and their antics, as the series progressed and more characters were introduced the world became more and more chaotic with each episode, not least due to the malign influence of Bonzi Buddy, which flooded the world with horrific, deformed demons and corrupted the skies themselves, making them display giant error messages and Bonzi Buddies.

Additionally, in Part 12 Garfield burns down the Kong household's treehouse and in Part 23 Bogan sets Johnny's house on fire twice as a Christmas present. Unusually Uninteresting Sight: In Part 1, Garfield sets himself on fire while making his first cooking attempt, causing his roommates to panic. Simultaneously, a couple of random Sims enter the house to visit, and make no reaction to Garfield burning to death. Almost none of the Sim passers-by gave any reaction to the dead body of Liquid Bogan on the street in Part 1. The Fire Lady became this after a while. A Sim showing up out of nowhere who catches on fire and stays like that for hours warrants attention, but by the 3rd or 4th time she showed up everybody kind of got used to her. On his way to Johnny's Dio runs into a serial killer dressed up as a clown, Joel just dryly remarks that he's just a basic bitch considering nearly everyone in Oasis Springs is a criminal.

Bad Future: In Part 7, it's implied the Liquid household, who are identical clones of the Bogan household, come from a future where Bogan stayed dead after Madeline killed him. Due to Bites The Dust, the two timelines collided and fused together. Liquid Dio not being a vampire, however, kind of puts a cog in that theory, as does the existence of Liquid Bogan. After over a dozen Parts later, Part 22, the Season 2 Finale, puts surprising fuel into this, with the reveal of there being infinite timelines, and Liquid Bogan's plan on not only getting revenge on Bulk, but also correcting the corruption of the timeline, by killing him, or something.

The T-Type house becomes this also after Nemesis kills Layne Hartman. He turns into a ghost, and remains in the house. In Part 8 VargFren stays in the household as a ghost after he is killed by the cannibalistic owner of the home. This happens again in Part 10 after Big Smoke remains a part of the Mercury household after he is also cannibalized by a random female ghost. By Part 12 the Squarepants household has become this due to all of Wesker's hits haunting the area, much to Joel's annoyance. Go-Karting with Bowser: Almost literally: in Part 15, Dio and Jotaro briefly play a kart racing game video together before they're interrupted by the return of Dorian Cook.

Beware the Nice Ones: Funky Kong snaps a bit in Part 14 supposedly due to finally realizing just how batshit insane and immoral his new home is. He suddenly begins to insult and call out Dio on his violent mannerisms and warns everyone how Dio kill them if they're around him. Garfield even briefly joins in on it for a moment. Dio tries to get a better relationship with Funky after by gifting him a book about why Dio's so great.

Brick Joke: An incidental one in Part 20. As part of a joke, Joel uses the camera to pretend to be a random person walking down the street and seeing Vinny Vinesauce napping on a pizza floater in his swimsuit. He stares at him silently, then continues his walk. Later in the episode, a random Sim passes by and does nearly the EXACT same thing!
