At first, it seems like your typical parody of The Irate Gamer, only with a name parodying the Game Dude. However, unlike many other parodies, The Game BOOB show doesn't set its limits at just the Irate Gamer. One could say that The Game BOOB show is a parody of angry reviewing in general, since other reviewers such as The Nostalgia Critic, The Cinema Snob, and even The Angry Video Game Nerd himself are subjected to parody.Much of the humor of this show revolves around Critical Research Failure Played for Laughs, vulgar toilet humor, the acting of David Savage himself (who plays the Game Boob with very ridiculous and derpy mannerisms, expressions, and voice), contradictory imagery (that "gun"/"screwdriver" he says you get in Donkey Kong? ... yeah...), and overall failure so epic that it would make Irate Gamer himself blush.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_content_2'); })The episodes used to be uploaded on David Savage's initial YouTube channel, TheGameBOOBshow, but he has since deleted the episodes from that channel and declared it dead. Running Gag: Several. Futurama references in the King Kong episode (a total of three). Also, there's the shot of Game Boob pointing out "dog doo. That's what that is! A big pile of dog doo". Each time, the "dog doo" bit is dubbed over into a different phrase (Cat crap, Pigeon poo, and Horse hockey). The camera also cuts away so you can't see his mouth. Whenever video game footage is show, sometimes footage from a completely different game is shown and passed off as part of the game being reviewed (i.e. footage of Mario Bros., Cat Mario, and "Super Mario World" being shown in the Super Mario Bros. episode). There's one involving an image◊ of Chris Bores bending over popping up, accompanied with a farting noise, before the intro of every episode. In fact, fart noises in general can be considered a running gag. Starting in RoboCop Vs. The Terminator, various music tracks remixed to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme (Fresh Prince of Castlevania, Fresh Earthworm of Bel-Air, etc.). Though hard to notice, the Dr. Mario episode had an "Unnecessary Sound Effect" count that would appear for a single frame whenever such a sound effect played. | |
