More seriously, Todd distracts Alfie so that the others can investigate Alfie's sister. The sister was not involved... but Alfie was. In the fourth season, the Bears are alone on a boat with Todd's mobbed up brother and his goons, and the FBI agent they have kidnapped. In the fifth season, it gets subverted. Both Reggie and Wood spend time alone with Chase Hansen, but neither is in any danger as they are not his target.
