Bittersweet Ending: Whoo boy, where to begin? Emma comes to terms with the fact that she murdered Elios and his girlfriend, and has been hallucinating his presence this whole time, even using him as a cover of sorts to enact violence on people who have wronged her. In the end she turns herself in to the police, where she is remanded to a mental hospital to get the treatment she needs, possibly for the rest of her life. However, she never actually killed Elios, Farah, Sophie, or her lecherous professor, so she's not a murderer. She also seemingly bids goodbye to her version of Elios, stating that she's finally happy and willing to move on with her life. Yohan moves on and becomes a defense attorney, using his skills to finally get Mr. Oscar acquitted of all charges and make a name for himself. However, once this is done, he's directionless, even vaguely contemplating suicide, and he realizes he still might have feelings for Emma. He also never sees Emma again, or even knows where she is. However, he's grown close with Hana, even calling her his best friend with the implication that they might be more in the future, and with her help moves out of his funk and thinks about becoming a cartoonist like he wanted to when he was younger. He even strikes up a friendship with Elios (the real one) when he visits the latter's café. Sophie didn't die from her stabbing, recovered from her coma, learned to walk again, and seems to be better off than before. But she still won't take responsibility for her role in Emma's growing mental instability, even when confronted with it by Yohan—although he was a dick to her about it—and immediately kicks him out of her house and blocks his number, showing she might still have her old self-serving tendencies. Elios and Farah didn't die that night—Farah was almost hit by a car that was driven by a doctor, who was able to revive Elios, perform first aid on him, and get him to a hospital. They're both still together, and have just opened up a second branch of their coffee house in his hometown. It's also revealed that Elios is Mr. Oscar's grandson, as they share the same last name. He even befriends Yohan when the latter visits his café. | |

However, Yona was actually helping an old man with some directions, but Emma does end up encountering a completely different kidnapper who tries holding her hostage when she gets a crowd's attention. With Yohan's help, Emma manages to break free while the kidnapper is distracted and throws him to the ground, leaving him to be arrested. Mika is the prime suspect for the identity of the person who's out to get Emma. Sophie apparently takes a photograph of Mika putting an exam sheet into Emma's bag to frame her for cheating, Mika seems like she's angry at Emma for some reason, and Mika was apparently nearby when someone pushes Emma into the river. But the culprit isn't Mika; Mika only picked up that exam sheet because she was curious about why it resembled threats in her locker, her seeming coldness is because she's introverted, and not only did Mika not push Emma into the river, Mika's the one who told everyone that Emma was missing, so Mika indirectly contributed to Yohan saving Emma's life. The figure in the black hoodie is a doozy of one. Audience members are led to believe that it's Elios, undercover while protecting his girlfriend, Emma. The audience learns in quick succession that the figure in the black hoodie is Emma, undercover while protecting herself. Then they learn that Elios isn't even real in the first place... | |
