Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_content_3'); })Pilot is a webcomic made by artist Mx Bones. The idea for Pilot was first had several years ago, but it was shelved. After their Five Nights at Freddy's AU shut down, Bones brought Pilot back with reworked versions of the AU's characters. The comic takes place in the year 2025, and stars the titular Pilot, a robot who was created by a man named Danish to fly planes. Having been built with whatever scrap parts Danish had lying around, Pilot isn't the smartest robot, and often gets into trouble with his close friends and Danish's adopted kids, Apollo, Bhanuja, and Cherry. But it isn't all fun and games. The world of Pilot is a dark one indeed. The OB Mafia, an evil group of terrorist robots, seek to cause mayhem and destruction. Their cruel deeds have caused many people to now distrust robots by default.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_content_2'); })Pilot can be read on Tumblr here., or on Smackjeeves here.

Artificial Limbs/Electronic Eyes: With the rise of robot parts came prosthetic limbs far more precise than what we have today. Robotic arms, legs, and even eyes are a very common sight, with several characters having them.

Ambiguous Gender: As of 2025, people are a lot more mindful of non-binary gender identities. To combat this trope, the people of the future came up with a solution: Colored arm bands, which easily convey one's preferred pronouns so nobody gets confused. Going without an armband is perfectly legal, though you'd risk being accidentally misgendered.note For reference: Blue for he/him, pink for she/her, purple for they/their/them, gray for xe/xyr, and green for any pronouns.

Art Evolution: Because of Schedule Slip, the artist had a lot of time to improve their art between pages. Compare page 5 to page 6, for example.
