Doodlez is an award-winning Canadian black-and-white animated series of shorts from Cellar Door Productions and created by Gretha Rose and Sean Scott for Teletoon, which aired the series in 2002 as interstitials during commercial breaks and between bigger shows. The show is about the adventures of a little boy named Dood, who's a doodle, and his creator, Hand. Each two-minute short revolves around Dood's various misadventures - from getting a headache to flying on an airplane to dealing with his Evil Twin, all of which are created by Hand.A total of 50 shorts were produced, with the final ones airing on January 23, 2004. Outside of Teletoon in Canada, these shorts also appeared on Nicktoons in the United States and on BBC Kids as one of the latter channel's final programs.

Pull a Rabbit out of My Hat: Dood's unsuccessful attempts to do this make up most of Black Hat. In the end, he inadvertantly turns himself into a rabbit, which then pulls Dood out of the hat.

Shout-Out: The episode Dood.com featured Dood being tormented by Hand in a Paint program, a la "Duck Amuck". In Black Hat, Dood's first attempt to pull a rabbit out of the hat produces instead an angry moose. Dood McLood is basically one big shout-out to Dudley Do-Right.
