Darel's younger siblings, Tharta, Thuma, and Tipi are now young adults training to become Kulipari alongside Stinger, an young scorpion.One day, a group of geckos come to Nova Australis asking Darel for help. The geckos reveal that Darkan, the mercenary who was working for Marmoo in An Army Of Frogs has abducted the adopted son of the elder, who's also a Kulipari. Darkan is bringing the Kulipari to the fortress Cardigal, which Jir and the Star Gazer interpret as the fulfilling of the Dream Walker prophecy.
