Doraemon: Nobita and the Windmasters is a 2003 Anime movie from the Doraemon Film Series, based on the entry from Doraemon's Long Tales of the same name.A mysterious Cosmic Egg turns up in Suneo's garden one afternoon, hatching into a sentient, baby storm cloud capable of harnessing the power of wind. Barely escaping Suneo who attempted catching the cloud with a butterfly net, the cloud ends up in Nobita's house and making a gigantic mess in the process. After some hijinks, Nobita decides to adopt the cloud, which he names Fuuko, but as Nobita and Doraemon tried finding out Fuuko's origins they end up in a mysterious Storm Village hidden in the plains of Mongolia, whose citizens have the ability to harness the power of the wind for themselves.Nobita and the rest of his friends eventually rendezvous in the Storm Village, and discovers Fuuko to be one of three components hunted by an ancient demon, Uranda, whom had escaped his subterranean prison. When Fuuko's powers are combined with two other elementals, she will become part of the dreaded Mafuga, an ancient dragon elemental prophecized to destroy the world; it's now up to Nobita, Doraemon, and their usual gang - accompanied by a young boy named Temujin from the Storm Village - to stop Uranda and prevent Mafuga's awakening.

Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Attempted by Professor Storm, who started all the mess; Uranda has been re-sealed, Mafuga has been destroyed forever (since Fuuko, Gorado and the third spirit which forms it's components are permanently vaporized) and there's nothing else left for the villain. But as Professor Storm tries escaping on his cruiser, Doraemon blasts him out of the sky with one last round of his Air Cannon.

Brainwashed and Crazy: Suneo for most of the story after he's possessed by Uranda, complete with Mind-Control Eyes. He snaps out of it after Professor Storm pulls a Dragon Ascendant and sucks Uranda into a seal to take over control of Mafuga, leading to a confused Suneo wondering how did he end up in the Storm Village, wearing Uranda's robes and in the middle of a mess started by Professor Storm.

Mythology Gag: Fuuko is only the second major character from Doraemon's Long Tales to die via Heroic Sacrifice at the end after Buggy, both their deaths involving pulling off an Eat Me in order to destroy the respective Big Bad of the story. Their respective sacrifices are remembered through their leftover mementos, respectively, a leftover screw from Buggy and Fuuko's doll outfit.

Bittersweet Ending: One that is infinitely more bitter than sweet. With no-one left to stop Mafuga's rampage, Fuuko ultimately decides to sacrifice herself by absorbing the heat from a nearby volcano and then forcing herself into Mafuga's mouth, finally separating Mafuga's components, destroying Gorado and the third spirt at the cost of her own life and preventing Mafuga from ever reforming. In Japan, cyclones and tornadoes forecasted to hit Tokyo following Mafuga's rebirth suddenly comes to a stop, as the prophesized destruction was ultimately averted. But in the aftermath, all that's left of Fuuko is the doll costume she wore to blend in with her human friends. The story ends with Nobita - now back home in Japan - still missing Fuuko, but then he sees a mini-whirlwind blowing some leaves and realize Fuuko is everywhere with him.

Pet Gets the Keys: Played with - when Nobita gets captured by Uranda's minions and imprisoned in a cage, Fuuko managed to sneak in trying to locate her master. She found him alongside a drunk guard, and Nobita motions for Fuuko to grab his keys before another guard enters. It backfires with Fuuko grabbing his hat, his spear, his left boot, and a whole pile of Rummage Fail (to Nobita's frustration) as a second guard suddenly enters just as the first is regaining consciousness. But luckily, that second guard turns out to be Gian pulling a Dressing as the Enemy, where he then knocks out the first and frees Nobita.
