The visual novel series Sukisho was adapted into both an anime and a light novel series. Since each adaptation is very different and contains different characters and plots, each adaptation received its own page. The anime was released in 2005, produced by ZEXCS. It runs twelve episodes, with a bonus thirteen OVA episode. Soichiro Hoshi voiced Sunao, and Hikaru Midorikawa voice Sora. Media Blasters licensed it for English distribution, but provided only subtitles with no English dub available. The anime is a highly severe case of Cast Full of Pretty Boys, with no female characters appearing on screen at all. The closest thing is Wholesome Crossdresser Nanami, who is feminine to an extreme, and seems Happily Married with Shinichirou.Note that while the anime is light and fluffy - the game is much, much darker, rated M, and may require a tissue.

Disproportionate Retribution: Sunao's revenge seems quite over the top, making plans of outright murder, just because his childhood friend let go of his hand in a life-or-death situation. However, in the games the revenge doesn't seem so drastic, because Sora instead killed both of their parents.

comment
Luminescent Blush: Both Sora and Sunao blush pretty badly when there's an implication of romance between the two of them, but Sunao does it more often; the two most memorable times being in episode 4 when he thought Sora was going to say Sunao was his most greatest treasure and the second being in episode 7 when Sunao watches Sora take off his shirt. Sora gives the most intense blush in the OVA when the kids teased the two when they saw Sunao eat a grain of rice off of Sora's face.

Adaptation Personality Change

comment
Adaptation Personality Change: Hiromu. In the anime, he's a wandering spirit and a Crazy Jealous Bratty Half-Pint who was threatening to kill Sunao for getting in the way of him and Sora, though he turns out to be more a Shrinking Violet when he shows up in school. In the game, his spirit temporarily inhabits Sunao's body and is much more understanding towards Sunao, at one point deciding to not use Sunao's body to have sex with Sora when he realizes how much it bothered Sunao. Furthermore, he later becomes a Shipper on Deck for Sora and Sunao.
