Lampshade Hanging | |
Titans (2023) (Comic Book) / int_2a090d00 | comment |
Lampshade Hanging: When Beast Boy questions why Wally isn't moving into Titans Tower with the rest of the team, he's reminded that Wally is the only member of the team who's married with children. A double handed example - as they enter the 24 hour period in which Wally's supposed to die, the Titans relocate Wally and his wife Linda to their armory on Mars. Not only do the Titans lampshade that keeping the confiscated weapons of their enemies in an off-world location is much more secure than storing them in a location like the Hall of Justice or Titans Tower, but Nightwing also notes that the list of people who could get close enough to the Fastest Man Alive to put a bullet in his back is so incredibly small that they'd already figured out that the Church of Eternity was going to use Linda as their patsy.

Titans (2023) (Comic Book) / int_313e9485 | comment |
Hero with Bad Publicity: Post Titans: Beast World, the team and Beast Boy in particular have public opinion about them split. Gar gets vilified in the news by Sgt. Steel and is beaten with a bat by a defensive father when he tries to rescue his family during a hurricane flood. Cyborg also gets some, because he proved he can hijack anything electronic during that crisis and thus gets some admittedly deserved suspicion for it.

We Used to Be Friends: Tempest, founding member of the Titans and Teen Titans alongside Donna, Dick and Wally, refuses the team's invitation to join them, citing that he feels that he do more good with his new friends than as a Titan. This is due to the fact he's being controlled by one of Brother Eternity's parasites.

In turn, he's recruited his old Titans friends (Donna Troy, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, and Wally West) to lead the charge while the League is away.
