The First Try Series is a collection of Naruto For Want of a Nail Fanfiction stories, written by the prolific Lucillia. The premise of this story is an Alternate Universe in which Naruto was able - thanks to a minor stroke of luck - pass his Academy graduation exam on his first try. As a result, he becomes a Genin two years earlier than in canon, put on a team with genin teammates Satoshi Kamiya & Suzume Kamizuki. The author's characteristic style only strengthens the overall effect of the stories, which are deep despite never having paticularly long chapters.
